Edit: Baze earns LESS this year than Matthews. He actually gives us 0.5mill more in cap space for 2018-2019 FAs.

I agree 100% with Erica. Don't think about who you "may" be able to sign. Get the best player you can in the draft. If that's Luka, then do it. If it's Bamba or Jackson, do it. Even if they took Bamba or Jackson, they need a few years. Cousins would still make sense if he wanted to come here. Free agency shouldn't figure at all in the draft.

Wait, why? Bazemore earns a tiny bit less this year. He brings down our cap this year by 533k.

It's next year that Bazemore hurts us. He earns 19.3 while Matthews is a UFA with full bird rights that doesn't count if we waive our rights to him.

We can't include money in the Hawks trade (because they can't receive money), but we can send out 5.1 mill as part of a deal for a first rounder or to buy a second rounder if its to one of the other 26 teams.

I didn’t hear it, but this Atl guy was just on Dallas radio per a Skin tweet. Someone on dB.com said the guy said the trade was 5, 33, and wes for 3 and Bazemore.

Baze has a 20m PO for 19-20....He was one of The 2016 sucker contracts

I like Bazemore-- younger 3/D guy than Matthews, but yeah. We'd be trading an early first and 20mill in cap space in 2019-2020 to trade up two spaces. Then again, if Doncic is a generational player like Dirk, then that's a no-brainer.

Would be awful for the Mavs.

Just keep the Pick. Even 33 is pretty good this year.

Bazemore kills the Cap next year while Wes is off the books next year. Not like Mavs going to contend anyway next season

Baze has more years in his contract than Wes. We would be saving them money long term.

I like the idea of 4 and 2 bigs. If Jackson/Bamba are the real deal. But if they were to get the four.... do the ATL deal too if you can. Get Bamba and Luca or Jackson and Luka. The chances of any of this happening is remote, but good to dream.

Think the rumor is that they do the ATL Deal and than trade Barnes + 1st for 4th and Parsons Contract.

Seems a bit too much NBA 2K for me. Likely there aint much action in the Top 5.

1. Suns: Deandre Ayton.
2. Kings: Marvin Bagley Jr.;
3. Hawks: Luka Doncic;
4. Jaren Jackson, Jr.;
5. Mavericks: Mo Bamba;
6. Magic: Trae Young.
