I do imagine we'll see a lot more of JTPG and Roddy over the next 2 weeks.

Heck, I wouldn't mind just giving him a game off.
I think RC is finally starting to wake up regarding JJB. Which is forcing him to play Kidd 40 MPG. What he's got to do is start playing Roddy more AND if he's not comfortable doing that, he has to play Jet at PG w/ Caron/DeShawn at the 2. There is no problem with that. Jet is more than adequate running the point in limited minutes.

But Kidd can't keep playing 40 MPG, and JJB is a huge liability.

He played roddy last night. 3 tos in 5 minutes. What's the dude supposed to do?

This looks like more JJB > Roddy stuff, maybe it's not. Either way, you forgot to mention that Roddy had a huge block that got things sparked up for a bit. Or his 2 steals. He didn't chuck up shots or brick layups. And thats where JJB comes in. He went 1-5 and two missed close ones.

Another note, When Roddy is a 3yr pro like JJB he most likely will be a starter, somewhere if not here. JJb might back him up, as it should be.

No it's more like Roddy is still tremendously inconsistent and JJB is in a humongous slump right now.

Roddy may be tremendously inconsistent, but I don't think JJB is in a slump. He just sucks.

Roddys minutes are inconsistent. Games like last night I can see it being hard to give him a ton of minutes when we are trying to see how we stand up against the Lakers but there have been so many games now that he should have been in. I hope RC is breaking him into the PG role rather than breaking him.

JJB, eh. I don't hold too much hope for him. It would be nice if he made it out of the slump in time for the playoffs. We need him to step up because obviously Roddy isn't gonna get any playoff time.

Hmm....so he was the first point guard off the bench and he proceeded to stink it up so RC yanked him...but somehow he's breaking him?

If he can't handle being yanked for stinkin it up, then he should be in the d-league.

No, let me settle the confusion. By breaking him, perhaps he has too tight a leash on him and or doesn't let him play in games he clearly should. I like RC I really do, I just think it's obvious that he isn't playing him enough. I think a lot of people feel this way and it's no coincidence.

I don't think you should take offense to the 89% of people on this forums JJB bashing, at least to the point where you are returning fire on a rookie who OBVIOUSLY has much more upside. Most people want newer, younger, faster, more athletic it's human nature. Keep in mind that JJB is in his 3rd year and is still doing the same things or worse than Roddy at times. You could argue because of that he should be in the D league.

I pretty much agree with this part about Barea/Roddy. If Roddy gets playing time in the playoffs, it certainly won't be as a PG. I'd much rather have pre-slump Barea as a back-up PG than Terry. Coming into the season, after he got that shoulder fixed in the offseason, I was hoping he would be an even better shooter, but sadly he got worse for whatever reason. Also, at times it seemed to me that he was no more near the positive locker room influence he once used to be, which is probably not surprising, given the frustrating effect such an extended slump must have on any player.

Did you not read my whole post? I said if he's not comfortable with Roddy, he needs to play Jet at the 1 w/ DeShawn/Butler at the 2.

And as bad as Roddy was last night (not really bad so much as nervous
I think...and yes, that is partly on RC. He won't play Roddy vs. scrubs for days but suddenly throws him into the fire vs. LA). He still wasn't nearly as bad as JJB. JJB really killed our momentum for a bit in the 2nd quarter on both sides of the ball. It's not a "slump", it is what it is.

I agree Roddy looked more nervous than anything. ESPN featured game against the championship defending Lakers after a ground breaking trade and sky high expectations ... you can't blame him. RC should definitely keep feeding the kid some minutes.
