No one to hate on the Heat
So far, it was Bowen. Mavs fans have hated Bowen for the longest time. He's dirty and the refs give him a lot of leeway.
Then it was Thomas and Bell. Blowing kisses endeared TT to loving Mavs fans.
So, who do the Mavs fans focus their energy on? Shaq? He's a good guy. Think about it, if Shaq wanted to hurt someone, he would easily end someone's career but he's always been a "gentle giant"
How about Wade? He's always a class act.
Maybe Zo? How can you hate a guy how's fighting with a kidnet transplant?
Walker? Walker has his annoying dance but he's not a dirty player.
Gary Payton is close but the Glove is really the Glove anymore.
So... who's dirty and annoying on the Heat?

if he wins one with Shaq, Riley will have done something Magic could never do...win a title without Kareem.
I've got nothing against DWade, but he hasn't paid his dues yet, imho. If he gets a title now it would be similar to Kobe getting that first title --- and I certainly don't want DWade to turn into another Kobe.

i'm with ya, it's hard to hate on the heat.
love shaq and d-wade. always been a big glove fan.
i'll probably have to direct my hate at 'twan and riley.
although white chocolate has always annoyed the heck outta me.
and i think he may play a big part in this series. if he plays within himself, he can be a handful. if he plays all wildass, then he's a huge liability. if we play devin and jet together for any extended stretches, he'll have to play more than riley would probably like.

Hate Antoinne for ruining an entire Mavs season. Sure his exit brought us JT. But by trade, it also brought us KVH. Maybe Van Horn's missed 3's are the curse of Walker, like he's still here, screwing up the offense. Yeah that works for me. Hate on Antoine Walker.

I have the feeling that Zo is going to throw an elbow here or give a hard foul there and ignite something.

From a Mavs fan perspective it would be easy to hate these guys:
Shaq -- for ridiculing Dampier in the past
Wade-- just for being too damned good and a drama queen
Walker -- pick a reason
Mourning -- he's a complete a$%hole
Williams-- acts like a punk, goes by the moniker white chocolate
Posey-- just for being on the heat roster
Riley-- for throwing Stan Van Gundy under the bus just so he could get the glory and the credit
In fact, from my perspective I can't stand a single player on that roster. They are standing in the Mavs way and you know Riley is just itching to send the goon squad after Dirk. Repeat after me, The Heat are EVIL! The Heat are EVIL! Must hate the Heat! Must hate the Heat!

Lets just hate Van Horn. That is the easiest.
No really.
Walker is so easy to shake your head at. The stupid stuff he does on the court is absolutely mind boggleing.
For some reason he has the mindset... "if I get to the basket and move my arms in a tripple clutch motion, then throw the ball in the air off the backboard. That sucker is going in!"
All I say to that is KEEP shooting moron. We will get the rebound or it is going off the bottom of the backboard and out of bounds.

LMAO, some great lines in this thread:
"it is going off the bottom of the backboard and out of bounds."
"Maybe Van Horn's missed 3's are the curse of Walker, like he's still here, screwing up the offense."
"Posey-- just for being on the heat roster"
"If you ain't hatin', you ain't tryin'."
I'm not much of a hata, but having Walker on our team was just about as close as I came to hatin'. Stack and Van Horn occasionally come up with bonehead plays, but Walker just needed to be on the floor to play the part. He always killed any momentum that we had.

it will be fun watching Walker miss and actually being able to enjoy it instead of cursing him on every possession. the only thing I like about Walker is the shimmy. most hate it, but I enjoy it. the only way I'll enjoy it in this series though is if Walker pulls a Tim Thomas and does it in Dirk's face causing Dirk to go off for 50.

Why should anyone here hate Walker?
He's not on your team anymore so it shouldn't matter.....
And for those that said he "ruined" the mavs season :
The Bonehead known as NELLIE was mostly responsible for THAT with his Obsession with Turning Walker into Point-Forward FULL-TIME...Nellie was well-aware of Walker's flaws and yet still had him Dominate the ball more than Even the Big 3 at times.....
If there's anyone to truly hate, it's for Nellie doing this(oh and you can put Mark Cuban in there, too for bringing him here).
Walker had his goof-ups here but none of this would've happened if Cuban hadn't even signed the guy in the first place.....
HEAT IN 6!

I don't HATE walker, but if I had to choose one player on the Heat to focus my hatred on it would be him. But you are right, we shouldn't hate Walker. Hate is usually reserved for those players who are really, really good and belong to another team. Walker doesn't fit that category.

Hey people, long time lurker, I enjoy reading almost all the intelligent posts on this board. Coming to this board is somewhat a retreat because I live in South Texas, near the border of Mexico, and it is Spurs country down here. Lord knows I'm having the time of my life right now.
Having said that...As soon as the series starts, it will be easy to hate the Heat.
I don't hate D-Wade now but as soon as he hits his first shot, I will hate him with a passion that burns through my loins like a golden flaming hawk.

Then I guess that player wearing #8 several seasons ago playing for Dallas was someone playing without a contract then?

Alonzo Mourning. That guy is the biggest bandwagoner around. Screwed the Nets over (luckily he snubbed the Mavs) when he thought he'd get an easy path to the Finals via an East team. Then when Nets fell apart he refused to get on the court (citing health reason) and demanded a buyout at almost the full worth of his contract. Got shipped to Toronto (not sure what happened there), but I think he got lucky and they waived him. Ran back to Miami and got lucky riding on Wade and Shaq's tailcoat. No ring for you Zo!!

Lurking Suns Fan here.
Kudos to the Mav, you played a great series. I will continue to watch to see how your team does. But I'll tell you a secret right now. If you don't hate Shaq already, you soon will. We watched Kobe and Shaq's little bitch game rob us of title after title back in the 90's. Shaq will play like he always plays-stand in the paint directly under the basket, never get called for 3 second violations, cause , hey I'm Shaq, and goaltend his ass off, and again, never get called for it. Offensive game was the same, park his ass under the basket and shove people away from missed balls. No talent wanna-be throw back.
They came up with a working system against Shaq. Hack and Shaq. Shaq shoots like crap from the free throw line so foul his @$!@ . If Phoenix had been a better (bigger) team, it would have worked. Good luck to the Mavs.

Walker doesn't deserve to be hated by any Mavs fan. Not only did we get rid of Raef's contract but we got Jason Terry in the deal. Walker did a good job while he was here and he was never given a chance by us that he was given by Miami. Just reading the hate proves that.
Walker has actually been in the league longer then Dirk so he surely does deserve a title.
If I was petty I would be hating Shaq. I remember that Shaq led team beating us. I remember the Lakers beating us for 21 years in a row. I also remember Walker being the reason we finally broke that curse. Then again IF I was petty I would be hating Shaq.

Trust me, hating Shaq is NOT a petty thing. Think the thread has some comments about playing dirty. Wait until you put the heat on the Heat. Then you'll see Shaq's true colors.

Well you're right and you're wrong. You're right in that 'Toine actually did do a damn good job in his one season here. He was actually not only our best rebounder, but really our most consistent player that year. And you're also right in that the deal for Toine got us out from under Raef's contract, and we ended up getting the Jet for him.
However, you are totally wrong when you say he was "never given a chance by us that he was given by Miami." It was actually the exact opposite which made Walker widely disliked by Mavs fans. He was given TOO MUCH of a chance. That season, Toine demanded the ball, and Nellie accomodated him. Toine ended up taking the ball out of Dirk's hands, which we should all know especially by now that that's NOT a good thing. That year Toine took almost as many field goal attempts as Dirk did despite being NOWHERE REMOTELY NEAR as reliable, effecient, or effective as Dirk is. That was inexcusible. That's why Mavs fans don't like him.
