At some point you'd think that it would just chafe the NBA and refs enough to develop a subconscious desire to actually start being unfair with them. It undermines the whole sport to whine about calls all the time when your team is the one that if flagrantly kicking out on jumpers, flopping, jumping into players, etc.

@TheSteinLine: Warriors say they "anticipate" DeMarcus Cousins (quad) playing in The NBA Finals while remaining merely "hopeful" that Kevin Durant (strained right calf) can also return

PTI had a story tonight of a Rockets rift between Paul and Harden.
Two of my least favorite players and a team I can’t stand.
Nice summer so far...

Thank goodness I'm not a Rockets fan. They have to make it work, especially with Paul's contract. Problem is their best shot was last season and I think they know it. Paul's only getting older and way more expensive. $44mm at 36 for an injury prone guard? LOL

I hate how Moreys newest discovery now completly ruined the game. The mathematical best shot isnt anymore the three or the layup. Its flopping at a 3-pointer resulting in three FTs.
Thats the whole reason why Harden started to flop like crazy on them. I saw a statistic, he had like 230 fouls and the next guy in the list like 30 or 40...
Cant wait until Morey just goes away...

All they need to do to solve a great deal of the issue is change the landing zone rule to apply only when the shooter goes straight up and not allow them to jump forward left right and all around like Harden does. Then seriously eliminate the corner 3 because there are guys who shoot the 3 at a respectable 37 overall but shoot 50% from corners. Meaning they really aren't respectable it's just the corners that drag up a sub par average to respectable. There really shouldn't be 3 points awarded for a shot that's nearly 2 feet shorter than other 3's anyway.

I kinda want the Raptors to win because it will be high drama to see if Leonard leaves a world championship team

Kawhi was the highest pick at 15. Kyle was 24th, and this is his third team. Pascal, 27. Ibaka, 24, and this is his third team. Gasol, Green and Powell were second-rounders. VanVleet wasn't drafted. The coach came via Britain and the G-League. Masai came from Africa. The Raptors.

Kawhi is a drama queen and deserves no title. But kinda rooting for the city of Toronto. That's a feel-good story. If it's GSW I hope they pull it off without meaningful help from the Nazgul.

What? Kawhi probably has less drama than any superstar in the NBA.

loving this...
Jalen Rose reveals that Chris Paul became upset with James Harden during timeouts & post-game as he felt Harden was Sabotaging his game.
Paul felt Harden was disinterested, trailing the play, and allowing the defense to double up when Chris Paul was initiating the offense.

Playing iso ball + defending the Warriors = tired players
D'antoni-ball will never win in the playoffs where defenses grind out possessions by collapsing on drivers and rotating well.

Excellent us of the meme -- obviously when they refer to "my franchise" they're speaking in the voice of a Rockets fan...
@MavsNetwork:
Food $200
Data $150
Rent $800
Chris Paul in 2021 $44,211,146
Utility $150
someone who is good at the salary cap please help me budget this. my franchise is dying

Interesting to see more than a few sports journalists question the Harden/Paul fit now -- especially after citing them for the past several years as "proof" that having two ball-dominant guards on the same team can work for a team with championship aspirations.
I wonder if the Kemba-to-Dallas offseason fantasies start to cool off as a result?

That's an excellent point. Two type A guards that need in the ball in their hands is always going to be a tricky issue to work around. Poor DSJ had the Luka title wave knock him out. And and I don't think any other player is going to stop that wave because of Luka's popularity.
And if the Kemba signing fails, then you're stuck with a giant max contract...although I think Kemba would be far more moveable because of his age than old man Paul.

Yeah, Kemba's talent alone makes his contract movable, even if the fit doesn't work -- which may be reason enough to pursue him when better options dry up.
But it is amusing to see the poster boys for the "two ball-dominant guards" movement go up in flames so quickly... Especially since it's the guy who sold us on the idea (Morey) who seems to be the first to admit that the experiment failed.

Getting Gasol was huge for Toronto.
20 points, 7 reb, 2 steals, 1 block and a boat load of screens.

With no KD, I think Warriors lose. Raptors match-up well, but will need Lowry and Siakam to continue to step up. Gasol is a match-up issue for the Warriors and I'm not sure Cousins is up for the task just yet coming off of the injury.
Everything can change once they hit Oracle though...
