I don't think Brunson gets traded because we can go over to sign him. He's putting up big numbers this season and having lots of success and there's a chance Cuban learned from his mistake with Nash...but then again...it's Cuban. Either way that's an asset that we cant afford to fumble away.

How this Trade Deadline goes is more exciting than our season. It's really the only thing that can breathe life back into this dead horse.

1) we can only extend him to 12m a year starting during the season
2) once we get to free agency, we have full bird rights which means we can go up to the super max with him
3) however, he’s a UFA so he could choose his fate, even if we matched all offers or even offered him more than other teams.
4) if he walks, we’re still over the cap
5) whatever we pay him, if we do, will put us deeper in the tax
