Props to Doc's Baylor Bears

The decimated squad known as the Baylor Bears just knocked off the Aggies down in Wacko...They held EACH of A&M's top 5 scorers below their season average...

Way to go Bears.

It is too bad Baylor never got a chance to put their players on the court they should have. They might have had a surprise team. Lawerence Roberts is legit. I don't get to see any Baylor games due to being out of state, but I have watched Mississippi state play a few times this year. Ex Bear Roberts is playing like an first team SEC player this year. John Lucas' son is playing well for Oklahoma State. Lucas was another one of the players who left Baylor.

With Roberts, Lucas, Taylor, Dennehey, and Kidd among others, Baylor would have challenged for the Big 12 title. Then again, nobody would have known what a sleazbag Dave Bliss was. In fact, he would have been exaulted for leading Baylor the the conference title. I'm sure he thinks about this at night.

Great hire in Bryce Drew. As a result of him bringing on Jerome Tang, they already have a comittment from one of the best sophmores in the state (Chris Roquemore).

We havea great coach now. That was a superb effort by the Bears. I keep hearing aggies say how they came out flat, etc balh blah blah, but the Bears players quite frankly gave a great effort. We basically beat them (and Iowa State too) with a high school team and excellent effort.

The Bears recruiting class includes a 7 foot kid from Nigeria (Mamadou something or another...no kidding...another mamadou) and some stud PG. The class is ranked as high as 20th in the nation depending on the source you read. Drew is a legitimate badass coach. I just hope we can convince him to stay for a long long time.

As for Roberts, he will be a NBA Stud. The others like Lucas et al were great players. WE would have contended for a tournament spot. However, I would rather have our kids now who play wiht heart and passion than that last bunch with Bliss at the helm.

Thanks for the props OP. These kids deserve it.
