Yeah I don't know what they'd even trade for him....but.....we do have salary cap space....is that enticing to them to get from under that contract? I love Harris's game.....may be a bit overpaid but I wouldn't care.

Get Dragic (once/if he's bought out) and Derozan. Try to move Brunson/ Powell/ WCS/ Burke for other assets during the season.

Luka - Brunson - Terry - Burke
Derozan - Dragic - S. Brown
DFS - Green - Hinton
Maxi - Bey
Porzingis - Powell - WCS - Boban - M. Brown

Our center situation is stupid. I think the Celtics pushed Brown onto us and the Mavs original plan was to not take on any salary. I'd like to see us try to move Burke, Powell, and WCS at some point.

I wonder if they might open up to a 3 team trade with Mia-Tor-Dallas?

Miami gets Lowry
Dallas gets Dragic
Toronto gets Achiuwu and maybe Powell/Brunson?

Not really sure what contracts Dallas would need to put up to match Dragic.

Dragic is making like 19.4 (!) though. Why would we take that without an asset coming back our way? He’s a MLE guy at this point. Couldnt we find a better way to spend 20m in FA?

0 interest in Dragic at 19m unless they took Powell from us in the trade without us using Brunson or any other asset. They can have their pick of Brown or WCS I guess though.

I tend to agree. Not sure if I’d phrase it exactly that way haha
Guess it depends on what they think of Precious, Nunn, future picks or Herro. Or whatever combination Miami is offering. I think Nunn is one notch above JAG, but they may also view him as an asset to flip? If they love Precious and think he’s a future starter I can see them doing it. But it’s basically FA over for them so it’s better be worth it. I’d trust Masai and Bobby Webster to get it right.

Nothing official with Masai yet. It’s dragging out a long time. Webster signed a new 4 yr deal as GM awhile back.

Have you posted our current roster situation anywhere? I'm curious how it's going. I've been busy with my move so I've struggled to keep up. I know we traded J-Rich and got Moses Brown. I also read we picked up the option on WCS.

You know....if we came out of free agency with one of these guys I'd probably be disappointed...but if you added 3 of those guys to our bench...and then bring in a starter 2 guard.....they would be much more improved. I don't like that Bradley can barely shoot but Joseph and Portis would be nice role players....Portis is on cloud 9 though after that Finals run...which is crazy because their coach acted like he didn't even want to play him lol.

I'm reading on cbssports the Heat are in pursuit of Lowry and Derozan and can pull it off by working a sign and trade for Lowry and giving Derozan the mid level exception.

Wait what? The mid level exception? For Demar Derozan?

I rly think Derozan told someone he was willing to take less for a contender and ppl have gone way out in left field with that line taking it to the extreme. First with LA ppl acted like he would take their 5m exception and now Miami he apparently will take their 9m exception? And then Duncan Robinson? What he's going to just take the QO and not test the FA market? Yeah I'll believe it when I see it. Do people want to live in Miami and LA? Absolutely. Will they give up 15-20m a year to do it? Almost never....

Three way trade:

Lowry to Heat
Dragic to Mavs
Precious Achiuwa / Powell / Heat pick to Raptors

(My understanding is this is possible if Mavs renounce THJ and operate as an under the cap team).

DeRozan then signs with the Mavs.

I think it's fair to say he can get more than the MLE by a good amount, unless he just goes Ray Allen and makes a huge sacrifice. But I can't imagine him teaming with Lowry who's several years older than him and he watch him take 20-30 million while he takes whatever the MLE is now 9-10?

Hardest lesson to learn is never assume anything in NBA FA. Derozan going to Miami or Lakers wouldn't surprise me in the least no matter how the money works.

Remember this is a player run league. If a player wants to go to Miami or LA, then those teams will make it happen.
