RE: Who in the league is like Howard?
Howard is longer than Iggy. I also think an AK comparison is a bit off the deep end.
I see howard as a more 'built' Tayshaun. I do think Howard will surpass Prince in the next 2-3 though.

RE:Who in the league is like Howard?
numbers are comparable but Josh did his in 23.7mpg, Andre has 32.1mpg. Break it down to stats per 48 so they can be compared despite the differences in playing time and Josh Howard is far superior.
Josh Howard 17.4pp48, 11.1 rp48, 2.93ap48, 2.93sp48, 1.63bp48, 2.0to48
Andre Iguodala 13.3pp48, 8.9rp48, 4.13ap48, 2.4spg48, 1.14bp48, 2.8to48
more points, more rebounds, more steals, more blocks, fewer TOs....although fewer assists
compare Iguodala of this year to Josh Howard of this year and the comparison becomes even more obvious

RE: Who in the league is like Howard?
For those who dont see the comparison between Howard's progress and play, and AK-47....
The way they play, their defensive prowess, long arms and fluidity, their jack of all trades ability, are the items that make me see them as similar players.
AK is better at this point, of course, but my point is that they are on the same track. Look at comparable stats, year 2 of their career ...
AK ...... 12.0 ppg ....5.3 rpg ....1.7 apg ....1.48 spg ....2.19 bpg ...1.7 topg ...FG% 49 ...3s 32.5%
JH .... 12.3 ppg ....7.0 rpg ....1.5 apg ....1.34 spg ....0.6 bpg ...1.6 topg ...FG% 46 ...3s 29.5
From the stats, Josh is a much better rebounder, and AK blocks more shots. Otherwise, about the same player. And the way they impact a game is very similar as well, with their length and athleticism.

Howard and Tayshaun Prince? I think Howard is way ahead in the yr 2 comparison - -
JH .... 12.3 ppg ....7.0 rpg ....1.5 apg ....1.34 spg ....0.6 bpg ...1.6 topg ...FG% 46 ...3s 29.5
TP .... 10.3 ppg ....4.8 rpg ....2.3 apg ....0.77 spg ....0.84 bpg ...1.45 topg ...FG% 46.7 ...3s 36.3

good post EL... I didn't look at minutes when I was looking Andre up. Still, I think as far as this thread goes, Iggy is definitely a "poor man's" Josh Howard if I've ever seen one. They both are young, long-armed, 6'6" dudes...

I liken Howard to Andre Iguodala, although I think Andre has a slight edge as far as athleticism.

Awesome comparison except that Igudoala is a better playmaker whereas Howard is a better rebounder. Iggy is more athletic but it is a good comparison.
Iguodala is just such an amazing talent, Howard too.

RE: Who in the league is like Howard?
I stand by it, it doesn't take too much investigative work to see where this all started. Funny how my "sixers homerism" has gotten a wee bit of support in this thread. Maybe I just made a good comparison, who knows.

That happens after a while.
Taking this thread back on topic, I don't think the Iguadola comparison is that bad, but I think we need to let Andre play for a bit longer before we make any definite statements.
Howard has the potential to be a 18-20 ppg, 9-10 rpg, 1.5 spg, 1.0 bpg small forward and an All-NBA defender. There aren't too many of those running around.

RE:Who in the league is like Howard?
Only one guy comes to mind for me..
Josh Smith of the hawks..yes, another Josh
I don't even put iguodala in the same category as howard..iguodala is a poor offensive rebounder, which is what makes howard so good for his size.

RE: Who in the league is like Howard?
I hope the answer to this question doesn't ultimately turn out to be Robert “ice” Pack. Really the only knock on Josh is that he gets nicked up quite a bit for such a young player.
