Default Is it Just me or has it been unusually quiet before the Draft?

Ok, I perfectly understand that the Mavs have no real need to make any draft day moves, because 1. they've got no picks, and 2. they pretty much have all the pieces.

Still given that... doesn't it seem a bit quiet....last year we were rumored to be part of every pre-draft deal. This year nothing?

Mavs still have as many quality tradable pieces as anybody.

Daniels
Stackhouse
Van Horn (but he probably ain't leavin)
Harris (same as KVH)
Terry
Finley?
TAW (somebody please.....)

Can't keep help but thinking that something might be in the works... been awful quiet.

I think the quiet you are hearing is because of the CBA more than anything. Once the new CBA is approved there will be more Buzz. Hopefully they will git 'er done before the draft.

The difference from last year, is that the Mavs went farther with a young squad in the playoffs. Last years season ended on a sour note (First round loose in five), this year the end was seen as a success (second round, close series, in six) add to that it at could be considered a rebuilding year. There you have it.

You are right, we have all the pieces, all we need to do is that little thing called "playing together". Don't forget, this season we rarely had the team that was supposed to be on the floor, on the floor. The same was true in the play-offs.

Last year, rebuilding was the right move (several players had to be moved), this year staying put is the right move.

I, personally, am glad that there is no talk. I pray that there is no Mavs news this off-season, no news is good news (on injury front as well)

Yeah, I agree. I don't see a reason to make many, if any, trades.

I concur bird. The mavs always seem to be concoting a way to improve. The Jamison trade was out of the blue. The guy I like in the draft is Marvin Williams. The guy has a tremendous upside. You can never have enough young big men. Especially considering that two young mavs can play in the NBDL.

Williams is way out of our league...but a deal to land Channing Frye, Chris Taft or Ike Diogo would be very sweet indeed.
I also really like Danny Granger though he is more of a 3 which we don't really need.

I'd like us to trade for a pick to draft Wayne Simien. His weakness is health, but if he avoids injuries, he would be a steal in the 20's.

Probably the calm before the storm. All we have is Cubans history to go by and that means trade, trade, trade.
