My friends and I decided that we're going to go to vegas for my 21 run (since I'm the last one to hit the mark). Any suggestions on cheap places to stay or where we *need* to go while we're there? It's less than 3 months away now.

I'll take one last Old Granddad bonded on the rocks, if you would be so kind barkeep... even though I really shouldn't... After all, I do need to find a way to fit some sleep into the thin space between now and 5:30 tomorrow morning, but I'm really not in the mood to shut down the whole dang drinking factory just yet...

Pour me another Spicy Hot V8 and vodka, my good man. And don't be shy with the vodka.

I just came from Vegas about 2-3 weeks ago, my first time. We ended up staying at the Bellagio and it was definitely a fun experience. It's fun to ride the Deuce and just sight see and see how Vegas was and where it is now. I wouldn't have a lot of suggestions on where to GO because I spent most of my time in the casinos. I definitely liked the Planet Hollywood Hotel. They've got a nice mall, and the casino was pretty hip.

I'll take one of those too...but maybe without the V8. Just the Vodka...ice...and a lime wedge.
Yeah, that would be good about now after watching my hockey team give it away to a bunch of panzies in CO and watching my basketball team bend over.

cool cool
and thanks for the PM Flaco. I'll get to it once my mind clears a little. I'm a little foggy from the Mav's beat down.

Damn...that's disappointing that the Stars gave it away...they were up 1-0 when I was watching while the Mavs pregame was supposed to be on.
Oh, well. Barkeep, pour me another!

Trip is booked now. Going up to my friends college on Saturday night, drinking at midnight, waking up and flying out on Sunday. Three nights in Vegas at the Tropicana (not the fanciest but it's on the strip) plus plane tickets was only 400 bucks. I'm going to be in baaaaad shape when I get back.

^Have fun there. A congressman (state) told me several years ago, before the drinks you´d have to render bacon and dip the hot fluid fat with small pieces of bread. Don´t know if it works out.

Barkeep...a round of shots for all my friends tonight, on this joyous occasion.
Or maybe a bottle of your finest scotch.

Good choice - it's not like anything can get you drunker than the Mavs beating San Antonio tonight...

It's always been legal in the US (at least the last 20 years or so.) However absinthe here isn't like that found in The Czech Republic. Here it is just a highly alcoholic beverage (higher than normal proof and %). it doesn't have any of the alleged hallucinating properties of that found in Europe (which is even harder to find now because even most of them there don't brew it that way anymore). I've had both before, but drinking US absinthe is no different than Everclear, it will get you turnt quickly, but that's it. I'd exponent it with rootbeer if you aren't doing it as shots.

I believe you are correct (although I didn't know this kind of absinthe was available in the US, which was my point). If it is, and you have the good stuff, enjoy. I would drink that on the reg when I spent a few weeks in Prague. One of my favorite cities in the world.

ya.. this had wormwood. I'm not a licorice guy so I obviously didn't like it.. but it was fun and interesting to do once with the drip water/sugar cube thing.

Absinthe paints the world... ;-)
And yes, Cad. Prag is/was awesome. A pint Pilsener Urquell cost ~1,20 Deutsche Mark back then, which would feel like ~half a $ today. So i decided to have five of them on my first evening;-)

Yeah, everything is so relatively inexpensive. Just about a year and a half ago I had an amazingly big room at a hotel right by Wensecles Square for only 30 US a night. They were still on the Crowns then. I think they finally go over to the blasted Euro this/next year though?

I opened a beer at half time and it sat unattended. It's still there, warm. Sacrificed to the basketball gods.
I didn't eat all day...I had my wife heat something up during the celebration. I thought I was going to puke.
And now the drinking!
