Default An interesting note about the MVP voting

There has only been 3 players to be in the top 10 in the MVP voting each of the past 4 years (excluding this year..until we get the final tabulations):

Duncan
Shaq
Dirk

I had no idea that this was the case until I started digging around a bit. There's been two or three that have been in the top 10 three times, but only those three have managed to stay in the top 10.

There are a lot of sports writers out there who will vote for those two guys regardless. I bet Duncan even got a first place vote.

I can't imagine a top 10 finish for Shaq under any circumstances..

I just ran across something else interesting. Last year Steve Nash became the first player since the merger (Dave Cowens did it in '73) to win the MVP when he had NEVER before received even one first place vote.

And if Dirk had won this year, he would have been the second.
