Any hope at all? I still think it will be 4-1 myself.

I think the Los Angeles Lakers will sweep the New Jersey Nets in the NBA Finals.

Hmmm... the way I see it, in this game...
extending-the-series-bias > laker's extra talent
I think the Nets should get one or two games at least, if the NBa can help it

The Nets played pretty well in the closing minutes of the 2nd quarter.
If they expect to win, they have got to get control of the lead. Easier said then done, and it sounds too simple but you can't constantly be down to the Lakers and expect to pull one out in the 4th.

And I may be the one of the only posters here on the board that believes the Nets had a better chance against the Kings than they do against the Lakers. The Kings were a better team than the Lakers. (They screwed themselves by not hitting free throws) but I'd rather face the Kings anyday over the Lakers. Because the Kings , as good of a passing team as they are, and as many scorers that they have do not have the most dominant player in the game.

I don't think anyone would really argue with that Bayliss. Noone in the league can really match up with Shaq. Most teams can at least match up against anyone else.

Now if the refs will just put those whistles in their pockets we can enjoy the end of the game.

Aaron Williams just fouled out in an NBA playoff record 7 minutes. Of course he plays for the Nets.

Bill Walton is still a jackass, but he just said something kind of funny....
after a huge slam by K. Martin, Walton chimes in, "KMart just got out of bankruptcy."

I'm like Jones in that situation. Playing against the Lakers, down by 2 points, with 30 sec left?
I **do not** play straight up and hope they miss. I foul. Even if they make both you've got 10-15 more seconds left. And against the Lakers time is your ally.
But:
Turn out the lights... the party's over."

One thing I've found out from this finals and I hope the rest of the country has is that SHAQ is the MOST DOMINANT PLAYER. Whether people want to believe this or not, without Shaq the Nets would be winning this series 2-1. Lastnight when they managed to keep the ball out of Shaq's hands, the Lakers couldn't do anything. They got the lead back but they weren't able to pull away. Then Shaq gets the ball, gets OPEN shots for everyone and NOW he's making his free throws so you can't even foul him... There's NOTHING you can do with this guy. I keep hearing how this guy isn't that good, all he does is dunk, he fouls, he won't last, HOWEVER he still dominates and still is a presence or will be a presence until HE decides not to.

yes, shaq is by far the most dominant player in the nba...

Shaq cannot be adequately defended, but he can be frustrated and he can be slowed. Teams have learned that now and are concentrating on showbe and the others and letting Shaq be Shaq, while they frustrate him. It is starting to work and all of the teams have recognized it. Credit Nellie.

Well I keep hearing how people have frustrated him and have slowed him down. I just don't see it. I mean he's had off games, although who doesn't. The one thing I agree with Shaq on is he said that the ONLY person who can stop him is himself. I believe that.
I think people frustrate him and he gets into foul trouble as a result but other than that I just don't see it. He has his way in the post whether he's double or triple teamed.
The one thing I will say that I've seen is this, take Shaq off that team and I'm serious, I think the Lakers are a seven seed if that.

They should really wait with the MVP voting until all is said and done. Shaq would have been the clear MVP for the third straight year, not just the finals MVP.

yes, you can slow him down.. the kings slowed him down ..no, it wasn't remotely close to stopping him but you don't have to stop shaq. there's no reason to even worry about stopping shaq because it's not going to happen.
but you do make things more difficult for the guy
