Name's being tossed around to replace him are Sloan, D'Antoni, and McMillan.

The big question is why they hired him to begin with. An unhappy Kobe means the cane comes from off stage....

some random comments from espn story......
Won't change the fact that they have a WEAK bench!
Skip Bayless @RealSkipBayless
I am SHOCKED Lakers fired MBrown so soon after JimBuss said he was 100% behind him and Kobe ridiculed media, saying no, HE supported Brown.
Whose the joke of LA now?

I love it. 5 games and the team is in shambles. I really hope they never turn it around and implode. Kobe is selfish, Gasol is a baby. Dwight is a manbaby. All that luxury tax for 1-4.

Loving seeing that ugly purple and gold burn. I've never felt this kind of joy from seeing someone (Kobe) fail. Good luck Nash, should've stuck with your instincts about that team.

You'd have to be stupid to coach Kobe or Dwight right now. Both? Absolutely insane. Both guys play coach or backstab coaches like no one else in the league.

Perhaps, but the team hasn't even had a chance to gel. Now they might have to learn a new system on the fly. This combined with the injury-proned nature of their three best players, and things have a possibility of getting nastier. Plus, Nash has looked terrible even before his contusion.

If its Jackzen, two of the starting five will already have experience.

No way of Sloan being approved by Kobe, no way.
I also think Jackson will come back. There have been rumors and he must be bored by now and dizzy from his mushroom consumption in the Rockies or wherever his hippie hideout is.

No way Sloan and DHoward mesh. D Will was the one who basically forced him out of Utah. Howard is the biggest crybaby in the league.

I really liked us blowing out the Lakers to send Phil's ass into retirement. Last thing I want to see is him coaching again.

He left because he knew Kobe was on the decline and that team was going nowhere in the future. Now that they have DHoward, he is back on board. Funny how he always comes back around when things get back on track with superstars in place.

I think the original plan was to ride off into the sunset on a threepeat. He wasn't going to crawl back immediately after the beatdown, but now he might as well try to do over the whole grand exit thing.

I can't stand Kobe, that team, and their God forsaken fans. Trash organization.

Twitter sources are saying that D'Antoi may be the choice. For the love of God, I hope not.

It's been confirmed they have.
