Looks like I'm the only one. That's disappointing because this show is seriously awesome so far.

And there was online video.........
I don't have a TV and I'm up on the shows I like. Come on, people.
Haven't seen it but a couple people have told me it's got potential but just doesn't have a sticky element to it.

John? These people have apparently not been paying attention. ESPECIALLY to the latest installment.

Is it? I meant to watch it but never have--saw five minutes here or there and thought it looked really bad, but obviously in that small amount of time had no idea what was going on.
What is the idea behind the show, besides a new vehicle for Dylan from 90210?

A basic synopsis without giving up the juicy bits is that it centers around a family of surfers, some successful, some not as successful. As the story unfolds surrounding the family you quickly learn they are a family that just ain't right. Then in comes a mysterious guy and mystery happens (that's vague, but if you ever watch it you'll thank me).
The last episode.... the ending.... well..... you thought Lost was strange?
edit: And don't hop in now, watch it from the beginning. Otherwise you might just give up if all you watch was last Sunday's episode.

I, like bobantudi, only watched it for about 5 minutes. Doesn't it come on just before Entourage? It didn't find it particularly interesting, but then again about a year ago my manager told me about Entourage and I had watched 5 minutes of that and I said I hated it, now I'm hooked. Usenet will help me catch up to it....

I'm been in since day one just because HBO usually delivers quality.
Sounds like you don't want to include spoilers in this thread so I just have a couple of thoughts.
-It has a really weird feel.
-It started slow. I was about to bail on it until John nodded off.
-The kid that plays Shawnie is a horrible actor...absolutely horrible. From what I understand he's a real surfing and skateboarding phenom but they gave up a lot to get authenticity there.

I agree about Shaun.... and yes he is a pro. So is Kai(sp?).
I might be wrong about the show, maybe it will be a dud.... but so far it's kept me pretty interested. I can't wait for Sunday nights for the first time since Sopranos went off the air (giggle).

Bah... I've read that J-F-C wasn't bad, but I can't forgive it for being a cheap replacement show for the superlative, genius show Deadwood... That's what I say, gosh-darned it!

Deadwood was entertaining, but I didn't think it was sheer greatness. The Wire, on the other hand--now that's one of the top shows ever.

The girl I've been dating for the last year (let's just refer to her as my "girlfriend") is from a southern california surfing family...so naturally, she loved JFC, and just bought it for me on DVD (since I spent the last few months catching her up-to-date on LOST.) I've made it through 3 episodes and something about it has got me hooked. Not sure what- bc there's a lot I dont like about it- but something has me wanting more...
