What do you mean would LA do it? Of course they'd do it. Dallas would laugh in their faces if the Lakers actually approached them about this crappy ass deal, but yeah, LA would do it.

Wow, that trade is so bad that if it actually happened, all the other bad trades would be laughing at it.

For a board that seems to think Damp is a pile of crap, this is awfully negative talk. Vlade would probably retire, if not Dallas wouldn't pick up the team option on his contract. That only leaves Mihm with two years on his contract (instead of 5 on Damp's) at half the cost. Since the Mavs seem to think Pavel is a better prospect than DJ, losing him wouldn't be such a big deal.

I wouldn't do this deal, but given Mihm's production last year was almost as good as Damp's, that's he's years younger and has a significantly lower salary and significantly fewer years, this isn't a silly deal at all.

why dal would do it mason

why tor would do it. to rid themselves of williams horible contract.
why for dal. peterson

I dont like throwing in 7' 250 lb blue chip athletes under the age of 30 "just for fun."

Anyways, no, that is yet backwards movement. Our guys are worth more to us because of the experience they just went through as a team, we have a tough group.

Dampier is light years better than Chris Mihm, I don't care how much you hate Dampier, his presence alone is better than anything Mihm can do.

O' Common. lets not argue emotionally. we know damp is not going to last long in the nba. and plus he has bad hands. Mihm is better offensively. These are his stats
02-03 GSW 82 82 24.1 .496 .000 .698 3.00 3.60 6.60 .7 .33 1.88 1.37 3.00 8.2
02-03 GSW 82 82 1,978 259-522 0-2 155-222 248 295 543 58 27 154 112 242 673

compared to mihm in his 7th yr
04-05 LAL 75 75 24.9 .507 .000 .678 2.60 4.10 6.70 .7 .19 1.44 1.47 3.20 9.8
04-05 LAL 75 75 1,870 280-552 0-2 175-258 197 305 502 50 14 108 110 237 735

-Damp contract is risky but we take on a slight risk of in getting alvin williams. I think its worth it.
-Jerry Stackhouse vs Desmond mason. Stack is better offensively, but mason is better defensively. but overall stack is probably better. we lose out on this one.
-m. daniels vs Morris Peterson. Peterson is definetly better than daniels. but a tad worse than howard.

Desmond can get to the hoop which finely can't
peterson can shoot the three, which daniels can't

overall, I think we end up with more debpth

and just read in this forum that steven hunter is free. Well mavs should sign him and find a way to get Antonio Daniels.
Wow this is so awesome. dude

terry,harris, williams
Antonio Daniels, mason
howard, petterson
dirk, kvh
mihm, hunter, pavel

You can't do that. If the mavs waive Finley, waive goodbye to Finley. Better yet we do nothing. A slight tune up would be nice not an overhaul.

New trade for today!

Dallas mavs send E. DAMP, J. TERRY, D.MBENGA to LA

LA Sends V. DIVAC, D. GEORGE to Memph
Dallas Sends M. Daniels to Memph

Memphis sends L. Wright, Jason Williams to Dallas
LA sends C. MIHM, S. MEDVEDENKO to Dallas

Why for LA?
To get J. Terry to replace Chucky Atkins and an established center in Damp.
Why for Dallas?
To save a lot of money. A very good center in Mihm, great backup with wright, and an upgrade at the point.
Why for Memphis?
Again to save money. They get V. DIVAC, D. GEORGE -two expiering contracts. And M. Daniels who can run the point.
