Thought you might be interested to know this isn't true. Tonight, I've had it confirmed by both David Lord and Larry Coon that combining players in a S&T is legal. Any info to the contrary is popular myth.

Sorry, I didn't go to the actual document - just asked the guys, who I trust completely. If I have time tomorrow, I'll see if I can find evidence in the CBA...I don't have the lifeforce for that right now.

Are we prohibited from adding a "no trade" clause for him?
I could see as a player why that would be attractive - securing when/where you could be traded etc. And if it helps us get him - fine - chalk it up to the cost of business.
I am no CBA expert (speaking of that - where is David Lord?) but I think you may have to have a certain amount of tenure with one team to even be eligable for a clause such as that.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that to qualify for a no-trade clause, a player has to be in the league for at least 8 years and with his current team for at least 4, though I don't think those 4 years have to be consecutive.

1) anyone can. He's one of the most versatile finishers of the dump-down in the league
2) no, but see #1

DeAndre Jordan, seeking a 4-year deal, may be done in Lob City. http://es.pn/1LT6BCH

Reading less & less about a Jordan-Chandler sign-and-trade... Looks like Ty is talking to Milwaukee, other teams -- still hopeful he can return to the Mavs.

He's a terrific cutter.
The Mavs threw plenty of alley oops last year (a lot to wright/chandler), especially before Rondo came on board, Harris is especially good at it.

Seriously why would DJ even look at the run down kobe lakers? Byron Scott as coach is still spare. Mavs have a better track record compared to them the last 3 seasons. Even if they try to make space. There is no real plan in that stinking franchise. Hence when they tried that crap a couple years ago failing horribly.
Mavs franchise have a better coaching staff. Parsons who will be good and ready. Dirk of course who has at least 2 years to be serviceable offensively. The added space we'll have in the coming years to build around DJ. It all makes sense for him to sign here.

@ramonashelburne: Clippers still "hopeful" that they'll keep DeAndre Jordan, but I'm told if he were to leave for Mavs, they'll try to S&T for Tyson Chandler

Thanks Ramona...never thought in a million years it would be a Tyson S&T.

That could actually make sense. Paul and Tyson have played together before. So there is some familiarity. But is there a way we can assemble a 3 way trade in getting a PG too? Eric Bledsoe is on the trading block. He would be a good fit now that Monta is gone.

But then again it would be funny to say nah clippers on a sign and trade. While Jordan signs with Dallas flat out. Letting Tyson get more money somewhere else.

Looks like the CBA would allow to pack Felton into the S&T too...means we gain some important cap back (Aminu)....

If we are signing Green or Matthews I'm pretty sure Aminu is gone. Just reading around from other fan postings like Blazers, Knicks, C's, and Rapts some really see Aminu in the 6m area and I saw a few say they wouldn't hate 8m. An interesting mention of him being like a poor man's Draymond by one fan.

love aminu, but don't see the similarities beyond the energy and maybe position/defense, Draymond is a better shooter, and is a much much better playmaker, haven't seen really much playmaking skills from Aminu. Aminu is underrated kind of like a younger draymond, but they aren't really similar imo.

I think the Green comparison is solely for the fact he can guard multiple positions and brings lineup versatility. Green is more 4/5 Aminu is more 3/4 but they both provide position flex, rebounding, and defense. If we get DJ and Matthews/Danny I don' know how we can bring Aminu back if even 1 GM values him at 6m+. Most articles a month ago guessed Aminu was in the 4m area. If JJ is wanting 3m and multiple years I see no reason why Aminu can't get more than 4per and multi year.

I'm fairly certain the Mavs would do it solely as a favor to Tyson.

Right, but they'll probably be able to dump Felton in the process. Win-win.

Do the Mavs have Tyson's bird rights? I forget. Anyway, just spit-balling/wishful thinking, but could the Mavs give LMA or even Dragic the max ($20MM), resign Aminu ($6MM), and add Danny Green ($10MM)? I'm assuming that the recent increase in 2015 cap would give Mavs about $36MM. So we sign those guys, THEN S&T Tyson and go over the cap? Not sure if that's even possible.

Tyson has a cap hold of 20m...so no, it doesnt work. Keeping Tysons bird rights kills 20m of the cap space.
It works for the Spurs with Leonard because his cap hold is just 7,5m and his new contract will be bigger. Tysons new contract will be lower than his cap hold
