I'm done with the Cowboys UNTIL Jason Garrett is fired.
Followed this team since I was about 6 (I am now 60) - went to their games when they played at the Cotton bowl. But last night when coach told our 4.3 40 kick returner to call a fair catch with no one within 15 yards of him and it was a short punt - could have set us up for a better chance to score.
Game on the line. Who do you trust?
A. Dak Prescott: 26/42, 388 yards, 3 TDS, 14.92 yards per completion
B. Zeke Elliott: 18 carries, 50 yards, 2.78 yards per carry
The Cowboys went with option B

Is Amari Cooper even in this game?

I haven't watched a single second thanks to Luka and the Mavs. And peeping the box score... I'm not sure there's even a football on the field with those offensive numbers from each team.

Oh sweet 2mins left. I guess I'll tune in now. If we mount a comeback and win it's all me. If we lose, well we still have JG so that's the fall back.

Welcome to the club. Better late than never, and it's a whole lot easier now that Luka is in Dallas.

This is a blessing in disguise. Garrett has been holding us back for a decade, but we've never been able to get rid of him, because he's been *just* good enough not to get fired. Now that we've had a complete dumpster fire of a season with no excuses, we can finally get rid of this clown.

Yeah but Dak gets easily rattled in games. He absolutely turns into a terrible QB when pressured. Not good.

Same. The only thing that makes me mad is when I'm in the car and I turn on the radio only to hear them whine about the Cowboys 80% of the time instead of talking about how awesome Luka is and how fun the Mavs are.

I don't really follow college football, so I have no idea if he's a good fit for our roster, but I'll take any legitimately qualified candidate with background of success at a high level. As long as it's not just another reject that only gets the job because Jerry likes him.

one last heartbreak from the cowboys to end the season... up on the skins and giants tied now with iggles at 17. watch that game end in a tie or something. this season's misery has been enough already.

no idea who'd be the best fit as the next head coach.
moments and stretches of great play and other times we'd just fall apart - in every
facet of the game. the head coach has to be accountable for that kind of inconsistency.
amazing potential there for Dak and the offense but inconsistent. Also need some more horses on the D Line - I wonder if Marinelli is also out? Richard interviewing and may leave.

Give me someone who can say "no" to Jerry, otherwise I'm not interested in watching more great players careers go to waste.

@DezBryant: I don’t have no sympathy for coach Garrett losing his job
The cowboys just became real contenders

Mccarthy is a safe and obvious choice, but getting Nolan as DC is the real news maker. Good move there.

I've actually sort of talked myself into liking this hire. While there are a lot of sexier names out there, they're all either from college or are coordinators with little or no HC experience. The Cowboys have a loaded roster right now, and their championship window is right now. It makes sense that they wanted a proven NFL head coach as opposed to someone who would have to grow into the job. McCarthy had gotten stale in Green Bay, but he's at least saying all the right things about reinventing himself and taking an analytics-heavy approach. So who knows, it could work. All in all it seems the potential reward far outweighs the risk.
And really, we don't need a whole lot. All I we need is an upgrade from Garrett- which is to say mere competence.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott to sign his $31.4 million exclusive franchise tag on Monday.

Seemed inevitable, but does this mean more dominoes will fall?

They don't need Lawrence they need defense. No more 1st round picks on offense.

I'd much rather blow this shit team up. Trade everyone minus the young rookie contract guys. We won't... because it would look shitty to trade Dak after he got hurt. But even before he got hurt this team had so many massive problems. We can't block for shit anymore, we had injuries but tyron isn't what he was, fredbeard is gone, lael has never been more than average to me, left guard is a carousel, Martin is the only stud left and he's seen some physical problems crop up the last 2 years. Zeke looks like he can't out run anyone. The defense is the most miserable excuse of a unit i've maybe ever seen since being old enough to watch football. Dak puts up numbers against terrible teams and/or when we are down by 2-3 possessions and defenses basically play prevent.
We are about to pay dak 40m+ long term coming off an injury and our team is full of so many holes it's ridiculous. I rly wish we'd blow this shit up... but again... we won't.

Drafting Zeke, and then compounding the mistake by signing him to an extension is a large part of the problem. If they draft top 3-6 they could take a qb they like or the LT from Oregon if top 3. Saying he could be a generational talent.

Yeah the OT is supposed to be best since like... I guess it would be Orlando Pace as the last one I heard as generational.

Cowboys would need to find a way to keep losing, it behooves them. If it holds as Jets and Jags 1&2 they almost certainly go QB. Giants have a young QB but may fire Gettleman and Washington would look QB. So they could get the OT at 4 or 5 but I think someone trades up or a team surprises if he’s that good. The LB Parsons is All-Pro material sounds like too, Kuechly comps. And the other QBs are getting hype. Good year to tank! Haha
