Default I had massive computer problems aka DDR RAM

Are some experts out there ?

I saw almost 20 bluescreens during the last 2 days. I had a 128 MB RAM, a 256 MB RAM built in and added another 512 MB bar ( all DDR ). The all run at different frequencies. 266,333 and 400 MHz.

Do you think these different frequenies could have caused all this mess ?

If your motherboard supports all 3 frequencies, then the memory modules will run at the maximum frequency supported by all 3 modules (in this case 266).

If you remove the module you recently added (512) does the problem disappear?

Hm, no. All three were running on clock 266. My motherboard is a MSI K7N2 Delta-IL (MS-6729), AMD 1800+ Athlon CPU. Don´t know if it supports all frequencies.

I fixed the problem by removing all RAMs and using the 512 (400 MHz) only. But 900 MB RAM would be a better deal.

try using the 512 stick and the 256 stick. ddr needs two sets of ram to run at 'double data rate.' right now you're running SDR (200mhz). ddr should give you slightly better performance.

Great ! I´ll try this.

You´re right. It´s running on 200. Maybe a RAM slot is done.

You can run a computer today without 2gb core -- Who knew?

Yeah. Interesting feeling, when you look into a paper an see, that a simple 300 € office PC is 5 or 6 times more powerful than your own.
