That's just a hell of an off-season! Still curious to hear about all the details and intentions of the 4-team trade, but for now we have the Marion-trade, I think (like grandmaster_c mentioned earlier) with that the Gortat-acquisition becomes even more likely to happen*, we have the Kidd-resigning and the word that Cuban's not done yet, possibly working on something with the Buckner-chip, which happened to fall in his hands again.
OH, I almost forgot, George is gone!

So will be there another move?

I would love Buckner+Williams for Mike Miller. Wizards could save like 4 mio and the same again in LT. Thats huge but they also said they love Miller.

Other could be Josh for JRich or Rip. But will Josh get traded? I doubt.

I doubt Damp will be traded unless its allready now for Sammy Superstar (and im pretty sure the Raps doesnt trade Bosh with the Hedo signing).

I also dont see Butler available.

Edit: Buckner and Humphries just can get traded single packaged the next 2 months, so it would need again a complicated 3 or 4-way.

Other ideas?

Buckner and Humphries both have 48 hours to be repackaged I believe, then theres a 30 day moratorium on packaging them with other players after which they are fair game.

If we are really arranging a second deal, they could easily be packaged with other players and traded but assuming the trade gets finalized this afternoon, the next trade would have to happen before Saturday night.

If Chris Bosh is planning on leaving Toronto next summer, you wouldn't know it by reading his Twitter feed.

At around midnight on Wednesday, Bosh tweeted the following message, along with a link to the story that his team had acquired some much-need depth in the yet-to-be-made-official four-team trade that sent Shawn Marion to Dallas.

"Welcoming my new Raptor Team mates Devean George and Antoine Wright ! Welcome to TDOT!"

If Dirk Nowitzki was on Twitter, he might be expressing similar excitement.

Both the Raptors and Mavs have made big improvements this summer, capped by the deal that took all of Wednesday to happen. Neither squad is at the same level as the Lakers, Celtics, Cavs or Magic. But in an offseason where keeping payroll down is sometimes more of a priority than increasing wins, Mavs owner Mark Cuban and Raptors president Bryan Colangelo have sent a message to their teams and their fans: We are getting better.

Cuban's own late Wednesday tweet spelled out how hard he's been working to improve the Mavs: "Its been a long day of looking at spreadsheets, reading NBA cap rules and rubbing my eyes"

Cuban wanted Marion and he got him, somehow figuring a way to acquire the four-time All-Star in a sign-and-trade deal that paid him more than the mid-level exception and still allowed the Raptors to acquire Hedo Turkoglu. The move was the capper on what has been an impressive summer for the Mavs so far.

For some reason (probably because the idea was ridiculous in the first place), Cuban wasn't able to get -- as one Dallas-area writer had proposed a few months ago -- Chris Paul from the Hornets for expiring contracts. Cuban brought back Jason Kidd, overpaying to do so. But Kidd had a solid season last year, is still an effective floor leader, and by bringing him back, the Mavs can maintain the momentum they built at the end of last season.

By adding Marcin Gortat (assuming the Magic don't match his offer sheet), Dallas gets a more mobile center and a better fit with Kidd than Erick Dampier. With Marion, the Mavs get much-needed athleticism, an all-purpose defender and somebody that Kidd can feed on the break (Dampier and Dirk Nowitzki don't exactly run the floor well).

The Mavs could afford to let Wright go after signing defensive specialist Quinton Ross on Wednesday. Overall, Dallas has added depth, defense and speed. They're pretty stacked with talent as well, led by the former MVP Nowitzki. Among Western Conference contenders, only L.A. and San Antonio are surer bets to be a top-four seed in April.

The Raptors, meanwhile, may be headed back to the Playoffs after a dismal 33-49 season. Before working Wednesday's four-way, sign-and-trade deal, the Raptors looked like they were sacrificing their depth in order to bring in Turkoglu. And rookie DeMar DeRozan, the No. 9 overall pick who likely isn't ready to contribute, looked like he would be thrown in the fire right away.

With Wright and George, Toronto gets guys that can teach DeRozan the ropes and keep him from hitting the rookie wall in December. And we mustn't forget the pre-Draft trade that brought in Reggie Evans to provide some desperately needed rebounding. Evans can do the dirty work that starting center Andrea Bargnani cannot.

Of course, Colangelo's best work was in convincing Turkoglu that Toronto was his next home and perhaps dispelling the notion that high caliber free agents don't want to come to Canada. Turkoglu will take a load off Bosh's shoulders and give the Raptors a second go-to guy.

Even if all the moves don't work out perfectly for Toronto, at least Bosh knows team management wants to win, and is willing to do whatever it takes to surround him with talent. And next year, when he makes a decision about his future, Bosh may realize that not many teams can say the same.

2 for 1? down by 2? down by 3?

probably a play with Kidd driving the lane and either kicking out to Jet or passing off to a slashing Marion and/or JHo

on second thought, I didn't examine the question enough. We don't shoot, we dribble out the clock because we are already up so many another basket would be tacky

Carlisle put the 3 guard lineup on the court....Barea taking too much time off the clock with doing nothing smart, driving wildly into a 6-10+ guy waiting and getting his layup hammered into the 10th row

I guess the question is: people were clammering for a second scoring option on this team (despite having Terry and Howard). Is Marion now our second option or does terry keep that spot of go-to guy?

It was nice, and it will be missed, remember the Portland Game on Christmas....I think in the end we will be better, having Marion, makes the Jet-Dirk combo that much more potent.

I think it's 2A and 2B, you can't go wrong, they can't cover everyone, line them up, run, Marion off a Dirk pick going to the cup weakside, Terry curls the opposite way and Dirk finally heads for the ball. Lots of options and lots of possibilities.

Trey at DB.com posted some infor about contracts and a press conference. I believe he's a Mavs beat reporter in some fashion, so it seems legit:

I didn't listen to the interview, but supposedly Rick Carlisle left the door open to more moves this offseason.

Anyone want to take a guess on who else the Mavs may be focusing on? And what parts we have to get them here?

That was last year-- people pretend he's a decrepit old man thats lost athleticism because he reached that three decade mark, but the guy is still as quick and athletic as he's ever been.

What are the Bucks looking for right now? Rebuilding again? Maybe we can offer them a nice package of Howard and sign and trade Bass as well for Redd. Our Outside scoring problem gets solved and with Terry and Redd we have for the first time in Years 2 guys besides Dirk who can create their own shot.

Terry, easily. Sometimes when Dirk is out there we still give it to JET.

And that is no joke. We dont have to sign another pure shooter with less or no defence, we need Carroll to find his hands back somewhere this offseason...

I think the next trade will be almost as exciting because nobody knows what it will be. I can't imagine what position they will be upgrading. I guess that something has to happen with Bass, re-sign or not. It really seems like the FO is having fun for once, too. All of this should be as fun for them as it is for us.
