Default GDT: Preseason game 2 Mavericks at Memphis (7:00)

Activate something. Go team.

I'm calling for a better DAlembert. Mainly because it's impossible to play worse really.

Hoping for injury free game too.

This is a must-win and the box score is important too.

Go preseason!

No stream tonight. I would assume that's because they're not at home.

I hope Ellis and Wright keep on gelling. That could really be something.

The team has certainly missed a strong lockerroom voice since Chandler left, and I'm really hoping Ellis fills that void with strong leadership.

Why do they have to show replay's after every team scores like this is the summer league or something?

The feed editing is pretty crappy. They try to show highlights of the previous play while completely ignoring the one that is happening.

Don't like what I see from Mekel. He doesn't look comfortable at all.

Dalembert actually looking decent. Not good but decent and good to know he can hit the methodical, slow "Bradley" midrange jumper.

Ellington is a beast. Moves his feet well and rarely gets beat. Really fun to watch.

Carter still really sharp with some wiley passes and unlimited range.

Dirk swishing some. You never get tired of seeing that.

Ellis is a speed demon that can really pass.

Blair still can't jump and gambles a lot defensively, but he's been wily both offensively and defensively-- with a huge swat on a bigger guy (Randolph)

Dude never played a minute in the NBA and is now starting his second game against one of the best defensive teams in the game. I'll give him a little while longer before judging. He's making some rookie mistakes (like leaving his feet before securing a passing lane), but also making some smart passes and getting deflections, etc.

Good game. Hate that they basically put in 2/3 stringers in the third and 3/4/camp bodies in the 4th, but at least we won this one and the core guys are starting to look really good together. Ellis still looks fantastic and very well could average 20-10-5 this year if given 35mpg. Dirk is Dirk. Marion and Carter are still themselves. Ellington was a steal for the BAE. Dalembert looked a little less stiffish.

Anyway, no Wright? What's up with that? Monday we may see Calderon to see the whole squad. Color me excited. Now we have to go 4 days without any Mavs basketball.

The starters looked great tonight. Can't wait to see how well Calderon meshes with the group. It should make it easier on Dirk and Ellis to have Jose setting them up for open looks. I still cringe everytime Dalembert touches the ball, even though he played better. He won't consistently be making that jumper he was hitting tonight, but as long as he defends and rebounds it's all good.

Can we please stop trying to wildly guess what players are going to average? We did the same thing with Mayo, and he turned out to be a dud.

I'm sure that Mayo's failure was entirely because of our predictions.

And it's also awful for Mavs fans to be optimistic.
