The big story today is that Kevin Harvick, the replacement for amy all-time favorite driver Dale Earnhardt, has been suspended for the race today. Kenny Wallace will drive the #29 in Harvick's place. The suspension was for aggressive driving. This is yet another bullshit call in recent weeks by the Redneck Mafia...aka The France family. Let them drive...Harvick is good for the sport.

My main man Bobby Labonte from my former hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas drove his #18 Interstate Batteries Pontiac into victory lane today in an exciting close race over a hard charging Matt Kenseth. Brother Terry Labonte finished in the top 10 as well. Great showing by the former Texas boys. Bobby looked great in the winners circle today.

If anyone is interested in a little history on the brothers Labonte, this is a pretty good article.

How hard is it to understand how to drive in circles?

Isn't the objective to see who drives the fastest in a circle? I agree with Rob - snooze city.

drive in circles...LOL...if it were only that easy. I hated to watch it growing up, but having been involved in some racing with a friend of mine at a local track, I learned that there is an incredible amount more to it than meets the eye. I lvoe it now. Someone has to I guess. I'll be the official NASCAR guy in the forum with head held high.

Haha that'll be the day Right after I finally get some props for my loyal support of the WWF

I don't mind the WWF (excuse the thread drift) when the people I watch it with know it's fake. When they think it's real I quietly sneak out the door.

The suspension was for aggressive driving
I am confused isn't the point of NASCAR aggressive driving. I don't knoe about ya'll but I would consider tailgating at 180 MPH agressive.

Harvick was suspended for turning Gibbs into the wall. It was perceived to be retaliation by NASCAR for an earlier skirmish betweenthe two. I saw the crash...it was an accident. Harvick got jobbed.

doc, you've got another redneck racin' fan in the group, and i'm a huge fan of the labontes - especially terry. i also lived in the corpus area for about 18 months (portland) and got to meet texas terry at the motorpark they opened down there about 20 years ago. my wife met bobby and joe gibbs a few times when she worked at interstate batteries there in dallas.
now, of course, i live in the white trash capital of the world, so i've seen enough confederate flags and "we miss you, dale" stickers to last a hundred lifetimes.

nekked-cool. I went to Flour Bluff High school for my freshman year. GP used to kill us in football. We would usually exact our revenge in basketball though. I have been to Labonte park and the old Buccaneer speedway. I saw Terry & Bobby's dad race there. I am pretty sure I saw Terry in those days...Bobby would have been too young. I have followed their careers for years. Great racers!

didn't remember they had named the motorsports park after the labontes'. they may have done that later, not sure. used to go to the drag races - i think there was an 1/8 miler out near alice.
went to gp in 83-84. they had won 12 straight district titles in football. the year after i moved, they went to the state semi's but got destroyed by tomball. the battle of the bridge between gp and carroll was pretty cool. played jv basketball there. the boys pretty much blew, but the girls team had been good for awhile. haven't been back there since i left in december, 1984. beautiful place to live if you don't mind a smaller city. bought my first car down there ('70 challenger convertible - sweet). used to ride out to mustang island with the top down.
memories....

why would they name a regular old park after racecar drivers but not a motorsports park??
