Our main problems?

To me, it's our defense and rebounding. last night, aminu had 13 rebounds, and he plays sf. as a team we got outrebounded once again. their pg vasquez had 25 points, 9 assists and 7 rebounds. our defense made him look like the white chris paul.

i think we don't have the personal to play good defense. in our 2011 run, we had smart players who fought hard on every defensive possession. even jason kidd did a great job defending much bigger, faster and more athletic guys on the perimeter. now we have an old and slow vince defending the perimeter, who often seems lost out there. collison is too undersized. brand is too undersized. kaman is just too slow.

the only chance we have with this team is to outscore people. when everyone is clicking, i think we have a top 10 offensive team in this league. but when you're taking the ball out of the net everytime, it's much harder to score. this is not a good half court offensive team. this team is at it's best when when it can push the ball. but when your defense is poor, you never get the chance to run.

what do you think is our main problem right now?

They need to make 65% of their 3's then defense and rebounding will matter less.....

It's so many things. It starts with defense but also is offensive execution and just a lack of talent. I mean lets face it, we didn't bring a single starter on the team. And if they were starting for someone it was out of necessity.

Our outside shooting has become pathetic. Collison, dahntay, roddy can't shoot from three anymore it appears. Mayo is borderline schizophrenic streaky.

And here comes the trade deadline and you know everyone thinks they are gone except brand and dirk.

We've worked on 4 and 5 but the first 3 are still awful

Only ~4 players are playoff ready. And two of them are way past their primes.

IMHO, late game execution specifically regarding Collison and Mayo (poor clock decisions, bad fouls, and missed FT...not to mention Kamen very poor 4th quarter performances) and defense in the low post. I think a trade including Kamen for someone more definitively minded would have an immediate impact.

late game execution is certainly up there with defensive rotations.
if we win half of the OT games (chance says we should) we'd be around 500 with dirk missing for 2 months. I could live with that.
I think we have the talent but this team lacks chemistry so far, dirk isnt quite 100% yet and defense will never be this teams first identity with the personnel that we have.

without a trade i think we either miss the playoffs or we are an easy out in round 1. even with a trade we likely wont make it into the second round this year. gt hope for bigger and better things next summer (but dirks contract gives us little wiggleroom in the summer).

Think you can reduce all the mess on Dirk missing for such a long time. Execution, chemistry, you name it.

Defense, defense, defense. We screwed up lots of late-game posessions two years ago, too, but we could also get stops. Not only are we not getting stops, we are giving up lots of threes and three-point-plays. That's it. If we can't keep them to one, low-percentage shot on each possession, then we aren'y going to win, even if we execute with the best of the league.

The problem is Charlotte level talent, plus Dirk and Mayo. This team is garbage and needs to be dismantled.

It's personnel, perimeter defenders, are poor, interior defense is horrid. Rebounding is about effort and if you don't block out you will get out rebounded.
