TRADE ACCEPTED

Due to Dallas, Indiana, and New York being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Dallas, Indiana, and New York had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Gives us nice depth at all positions in case of injury and plenty of match up possibilities. Also allows us to bring along younger players a little slower without putting immediate pressure on anyone of them.

Still to be moved by Mavs; Norris, Laettner, Croshere possibly to Atlanta for second round picks and trade exceptions? At least Atlanta can fill out their roster cheaply and still have some cap flexiblity next year with Henderson and Laettner ending contracts. Norris gives them a veteran backup PG. If Atlanta really wants to move Jason Terry contract they can do it in this deal or another one.

NY gets some future cap flexibility with Walker, they are supposedly interested in him anyway. Fortson gives them size if they move O. Harrignton and/or Motumbo or K. Thomas to Chicago in a deal for Crawford.

Pacers get an outside shooter in Finley, a solid backup in Najera who doesn't mind coming off the bench, and both a veteran and young PG while moving Croshere's and Pollard's contracts and a logjam for playing time.

T. Thomas is a nice contract coming off in two years for Mavs. At least he can contribute if needed. He is also a good enough player that he may be valueable in a trade before then. Nazr is still young, just getting to the age that a lot of centers figure it out. He can always be moved on later, even backup centers have trade value.

PG: Tinsley/Harris/Jon
SG: Stackhouse/Daniels
SF: Harrington/J. Howard/T. Thomas
PF: Dirk/Harrington/ T. Thomas
C: Nazr/Bradley/Benga

IR: AJ/TAW/Pavel

Well the Pacer/Hawk deal killed that idea. At least the trade was made before someone came here saying that Pacers wouldn't trade Harrington just to clear out some contracts and take back an outside shooter.

You want to put the middle in the hands of Nazr? All we need is a smaller Bradley and a bigger Fortson. Keep smoking the Odom weed dude.

It's a shame you don't know what you are talking about, you might contribute something once in awhile.
