Hey guys- with season 5 in the books I thought itd be cool to start a new thread for updates, theories, etc etc on what to expect before season 6.
If you haven't already figured it out and dont mind being spoiled- heres a link that will tell you who's eyeball that was in the season 6 trailer we saw last week...

Yeah I saw that.
I wonder if they really shot that specifically for a teaser commercial.
Jack waking up in the jungle (whether in 2004 or 2008...or hell, in 1977) on the island would go a log way towards calming my nerves about what in the heck is going on next season.

it's jack waking up- at least thats the message they wanted to send us. so, we know jack is alive...we just dont know if its post-dream, post-bomb, post-time travel...or, with that in mind, if he's still in 1977.

1. Cool beans if Season 6 starts with Jack flat on his back in the middle of the jungle ala Season 1...even if we know it's coming. Maybe Lapidus will be the pilot this time and he'll be the one eaten by the monster or some crazy stuff;
2. It's occurs to me that "what lies beneath the shadow of the statue?" might be a play on words...."lies" meaning rests or resides and "Lies" meaning prevaricates....like "Who tells lies beneath the shadow of the statue?"...i dunno, food for thought;
3. Let's all hope that Season 6 is a return to Season 3 form with regard to cleavage shots. Season 5 was a bust as far as this was concerned...or a non-bust...you know what I mean;
4. Esau-Locke says to Ben "that's the door to the hatch where you and I first met." Hmmm....either Esau is omniscient or there's a bit of old Locke in not-dead Locke;
5. Jacob the good guy? Check out the scene with Jacob and Sayid and Sayid's soon to be flattened she-rab love muffin. Jacob illustrates the very fine line between killing someone and asking for directions. So....Jacob causes in some way Mrs. Sayid to be killed, thereby setting of a chain of events which includes (as I recall) Sayid teaming with Ben to try to get the guy that killed his girl....crazy....anyhoo, maybe Jacob is a liar under the statue, maybe he's a bit more manipulative than the whole "it's all your choice" act he puts on....we don't know that he's the good guy;
6. More on the maybe Jacob is a bad guy theme -- there's a bit of perversion (of truth and decency not sex) in each of the encounters. He tells Kate to never steal again, and Kate winds up a murdering fugitive from the law. He gives Sawyer, or James, a pen to finish his letter....like Jacob stoked the hatred which would turn James the kid into Sawyer the con. He tells Jin and Sun to never take their love for granted and Sun winds up screwing the goofy bald guy. Scariest words uttered on Lost -- "I'm Jacob from the statue and I'm here to help."
7. I really like Juliet. She didn't do much for me early on but I've had to move her into the rotation.
8. What's up with the other others? Can't get my head around the new kids on the block.
9. The inverted colors Lost logo at the end -- super cool, we're through the looking glass kind of moment. Can't wait until next season.

#4 is what puzzles me. its one thing for esau to inhabit dead bodies (locke, christian shepherd, etc) and another to speak that persons mind and recall things from their past...

And now for some news that should surprise no one: ABC is expected to announce tomorrow that it has picked up a reboot of the camptastic '80s thriller V and that Lost heroine Elizabeth Mitchell is a full-time castmember.
Translation: She will not be returning to Lost as a series regular.
However, before you go declaring Juliet DOA from last week's detonated hydrogen bomb, I should point out that this piece of scoop comes with a big but attached: Mitchell's Lost days are not done. Multiple sources confirm that the actress is expected to appear in an unspecified number of episodes next season, so it's entirely possible Juliet survived Jughead and her absence will be explained in another way. (Check out Doc Jensen's column this Wednesday for a comprehensive Juliet theorypalooza.)

'Lost' Nuggets looking for redemption
excerpt
Quote:
If you're already suffering from "Lost" withdrawal and worried that you can't last until the new season begins in 2010, the Western Conference finals are the perfect fill-in. The Denver Nuggets couldn't be more like "Lost" if they took chartered flights on Oceanic Airlines.
You want characters seeking to atone for their mistakes and reinvent their lives? Check the Nuggets.
"This is a team of redemption," Nuggets coach George Karl says. "This is not 1, 2, 3, this is 5, 6, 7 stories of redemption."
It's a group of castoffs, the unwanted. Carmelo Anthony is the only member of the team who stepped on stage with a Denver Nuggets cap to shake David Stern's hand on draft night -- and even he has been haunted by first-round playoff failures, perpetually running to catch up with his more accomplished mates in the class of 2003.
Everyone else is some other team's leftovers.
It's easy to draw the comparisons between the Nuggets and the "Lost" characters.
Kenyon Martin: Sawyer, the reformed bad boy who is now a team player. Karl gave Martin the boot in the middle of a playoff series three years ago. This year, Martin stepped up at a preseason meeting to apologize for his problematic past and commit to better behavior.
Chris Andersen: Charlie, the former drug abuser turned hero. After a two-year ban for violating the NBA's substance-abuse policy, Andersen is back to doing all the little things Denver needs, like rebounding and blocking shots. Not quite as valiant as sacrificing his life in an underwater communication station, but he gives the Nuggets everything he has on the court.
Dahntay Jones: Sayid, the defensive specialist, the type of guy you'd want to fix a radio, "coerce" information from someone, or guard Kobe Bryant.
Nene: Rose, a cancer survivor and steadying influence.
J.R. Smith: Kate, knows how to shoot, can definitely heat things up, but also a threat to burn down your house.
Allen Iverson: Michael, tended to do things on his own, and now isn't around anymore.
Carmelo is Jack, the leader by default who had to come to grips with his own insufficient ways to become a better person. Part of his growth was his willingness to yield to Chauncey Billups, who is a blend of Desmond and Faraday, newer arrivals on the show who wound up providing critical guidance.
.....

dammit JA Adande.
I wonder how much Nene and JR like to be compared to girls.

Oh dear...it appears that the fuhrer was just as mad about the LOST finale as he was about the Ranger pitching last year.

I think it's cool that Matt Fox is as into it as he is, and how he obviously talks a lot about his character and the show with Lindelof/Cuse.

They've repeatedly assured us that it's not a dream, or purgatory, or anything stupid like that.

Duped newscast airs ‘Lost’ scene as Flight 447’s last moments
LINK
In their rush to air exclusive photos of Flight 447’s destruction, no one in this newsroom stopped to ask the logical questions, such as: 1) How did the camera survive? and 2) Why are the photos in wide-screen format?
The answers, of course, are: 1) Because the footage is from Lost. And, 2) because the footage is from Lost.
