Love Griffin posterizing Embiid who is quickly becoming a hated player in this league. Guy talks a lot of trash.

Hopefully he gets fined for that flop that got Drummond ejected. That was a terrible call. Are those not reviewable?

@TheSteinLine: The Rockets say James Harden (hamstring) will miss the next two games. Following an MRI this morning, Harden was diagnosed with a Grade 1-Plus left hamstring strain.

If it's 4 firsts doesn't that mean that they are staggered years and unprotected so they can convey? So... 2019 2021 2023 2025? If thats true this could potentially fuck the rockettes hard if they don't win and get injuries while strapped to cp3 bloated contract.

7-year rule allows a team to trade up to 4 picks between 2019 to 2025. The first has to alternate each year (19, 21, 23 and 25) and cannot have protection unless the pick does not rollover to the following season. Ex: Protected top 14 and doesn’t convey if HOU is in the lottery.

If the Rockets pay 4 firsts for Butler without an extension in place then they're toast... Minnesota would be stupid to turn down this offer -- a bunch of firsts is what allowed Boston to build a contender.

Losing Butler may mean that TWolves are out of playoff race, but really, they are not going to see any better offers than that. Maybe they could use '19 pick to also unload some salary. I'm sure the coach Tom wants to keep Butler, but they won't contend for a championship, so logical reason would be to take those picks. Difficult to imagine CP3 will play a lot the last 2 years of his contract.

Of course there is a risk that somehow Houston will manage to slip in to the playoffs all years simply thanks to Butler and Harden, but the West is loaded... If Houston was playing in the East, then this is so-so (would still be the best trade out there, only with less value).

How does Morey get so much credit? I feel the guy has completely mismanaged that team, especially this summer when they lost so many key role players. Because he doesn't give a crap about anyone that isn't a superstar.

You're gonna give up 4 first round picks for another injury-prone superstar? Be my guest, but I am not sure I believe that rumor. Devil is always in the details.

And honestly, something like this doesn't usually slip to the media unless it's already dead or agent driven.

Is there any other option for the Rockets to improve their current team? Perhaps Morey finally saw team's payroll for upcoming seasons and this is the only way to acquire talent.

He maybe knew about Butler's discontent in Minny but in that case it would have made sense to re-sign at least Ariza as a potential trade chip.

They couldn't afford Ariza with Capela needing to get re-upped.

I don't think Minny does it. They turned down a pretty darn good offer from Miami, so I don't see it happeneing. Their FO is in complete turmoil and is in no position to make any trade. Thibadeau doesn't give two craps about draft picks because he likely won't be around after this year.

Durant goes for 41. 25 (I think) in the 4th quarter. I really hope he chooses to leave GS after this season, and tries to lead his own team.

Lue canned after a strong record with LeBron and an 0-6 start without him.

Players reportedly angry about it.

That's pretty disgraceful considering he coached them to a championship taking over mid season after Blatt was fired.

What did Cleveland think was going to happen when Lebron left? Crap owner.

OH the owner is upset because Sexton isn't playing more? A guy who can't shoot, can't defend, can't rebound, can't pass, and turns the ball over? Got it.

"tries to lead his own team" - I've yet to see any leadership from Durant. I used to at least give him the benefit of the doubt but now I'm just done with him. Put an asterisk next to his name like people say to do with all of the other ring chasers.

He left a young, possible championship caliber team to join one the best teams in NBA history who had just finished winning back-to-back while getting a max contract at the time. After winning a couple of championship and taking a little less (yes, a little, not Dirk less money) in order to keep a completely stacked team together. Now he's already stating “I am thinking about the money I’m going to get. I never got the (massive) deal. " Really? He's getting $30 million this year alone plus all the endorsements he's doing. Cry me a freaking river.

Golden State will eventually dismantle because they can't pay five max players. That's when Durant will flee from "too much work / too difficult to win" again and join the next super-team. Dude is no leader and most certainly no true champion.

Durant is going to leave...he is still incredible butthurt and sensitive about getting respect, he still picks pointless fights on twitter etc. He knows he could win another 3-4 rings in GS and would never get any respect for it.

Hell, even on the own championship parade such stuff happens: https://www.sbnation.com/nba/2018/6/...ract-bob-myers

I think he goes to a team like the Knicks. Big franchise, attention and not much to lose. And the EC...

Klay would be a perfect fit for this team. Move Wes to a much smaller contract and a bench player with Klay being the starting SG. Dang, we would be set.

Makes you wonder what the Wolves are waiting for. Perhaps playing with fire and trying to make sure that Rockets' record is so low that even Butler won't help them. I guess the perfect time to trade for aforementioned deal would be when Harden and CP3 are healthy and starting to score wins. Trade Butler only to force Houston to adjust.

Really wish the Rockets were more of a trainwreck, but when Harden gets back, they'll be fine. They still won't win a trophy/ring, but they'll still have a regular season record high enough to walk around with that dumb swagger of theirs.

Still hoping Miami or some other team gets Butler. Those 4 first round picks sounds sweet but its fool's gold.

But yes, watching the Rockets suck is very satisfying.

He really looks different this year. His face and everything. Maybe he's just lost a lot of weight and managed to get into elite physical shape.

Watching Bucks/Celtics they play just like the Mavs. Just a bunch of junk threes over and over and over until they try for an easy inside basket. The entire league is this way now.

Kings aren't a joke anymore. Hield looks way better. Fox definitely improved. Bjelica fits perfectly. Bagley looks good too.

Remember when we thought Hield was a bad trade for them?

agree. It does seem to switch a bit once playoffs come around to a little more of a traditional half court game execution.

There was a preseason game where Melo faked a three, stepped inside the three point line, and nailed the long two pointer. He then immediately said “my bad” to the bench, apologizing for not taking the three.

I guess I'm not getting why players don't try for closer 2 point shots, but c'est la vie.
