@EarlKSneed: Per @MavsPR, J.J. Barea (left oblique strain) & Devin Harris (personal reasons) are questionable for the @DallasMavs vs. Miami. Seth Curry (stress reaction, left tibia), Dorian Finney-Smith (left knee quadriceps tendinitis) & Nerlens Noel (left thumb surgery) are out. #DALvsMIA

Yeah same for me. I get annoyed when I read Udonis Haslem's name when the Heat are mentioned, but other than him no one from those days remain. Kinda indifferent to the Heat now. Actually kinda feel bad for them that they don't have a realistic chance to do anything in the East, but their FO has signed just enough players to keep them from improving in the draft. They're in the worst place you can be in the NBA, they're average.

Yeah strange decision from Riley. Maybe he's slipping? They traded like two picks for Dragic. Then signed T.Johnson, J.Johnson, Waiters, Olynyk, Richardson to deals. They have zero flexibility and those they signed aren't exactly coveted assets. At least they hit on Adebayo. Interesting to see if anyone even wants Whiteside.

What are his personal reasons?
Also, we need Wes to tweak something and Barnes to have personal reasons

We could start tweeting yo mama jokes at him or something, see if he takes it personally enough to sit out a game or two. Then us fans can say we did something!

My first thought is his brother. Once the shock wears off, season is kind of a wash anyway, realities start setting in.

Tonight, Dirk, Kidd, Chandler, Jet, JJ... Lebron, Wade, Bosh, Chalmers, Haslem... fight for the title... total excitement... uh... oh... sorry... wrong year... wrong roster... wrong excitement... anywho, a depleted Mavs team is way better than a mediocre Heat team, so....
Mavs - 114
Otters in Heat - 100

@EarlKSneed: Rick Carlisle says Devin Harris is cleared and ready to play after missing the last three games with a head injury and personal reasons. #DALvsMIA

Maybe because he doesnt have his player telling him months before free season to clear cap space because Bosh and Lebron are signing...

I kinda dig the Miami Vice jersey's as an alternate for them. I was a little confused when I flipped the game on. I guess I just assumed Dallas with in white and the Heat wearing black.

Man those last 2 min of action looked like watching 3rd graders playing. The ball bouncing back & forth between teams, and one team not even getting 20 feet up the floor before they turn it over again.
We're watching bad basketball tonight.

Mavs struggling to score 80 tonight... Dirk and Dennis have been in a shooting funk the past few games, must really like who they see at the top of the draft.

Lol! Yeah, I noticed DSJ was shooting 3/14 tonight, and remembered he's been running cold lately. I was looking at his stat line this year. Very similar to Russell Westbrook's #s his rookie year

Dammit, we just lost our biggest trade chip...
EDIT: looks like Wes is back out on the floor, thought he got injured there.

James Johnson is not interested in our tanking efforts -- in the last 2 minutes he turned it over on a missed lob, had a shot clock violation, and put Barnes on the FT line with an unnecessary foul when the Mavs were about to commit a backcourt violation.

Shows you how important Barea is to this team winning games. The offense goes to shit with him out. If you're on #teamtank he's the guy you want traded....

And by "shooting funk" you mean DSJ drives to the basket with his defender hanging all over him, misses the layup, and no call. Yes, he's been in that funk for most of the season. I like how Harper says that other teams are looking at DSJ and preparing for him now. Yes they are, they are all recognizing that he is getting serious rookie treatment. There was a crap-ton of contact all night long that wasn't called until midway through the 4th quarter.
But, it helps our draft position and I also see it seriously driving DSJ to improve over the off-season. Next year is going to be very interesting.

Well, that certainly does affect his overall shooting percentage... But I was referring more to him shooting 1-7 from the 3P line (1-11 over the last two games).
And Dirk has been in even more of a funk, shooting just 13-47 from the field in the last 5 games.

Fun Fact:
JJB is the only Dallas player in the nba.com advanced stats leaderboards:
http://stats.nba.com/players/advanced-leaders/
-> 42.0 Assist Percentage

JJB is a tough decision. If we don't get enough in return, it's not worth trading him as has been debated in other threads. He's 33 years old, but he's having one of his best years ever with the Mavs and maybe even his career. We have him signed to an extremely reasonable contract for one more year and he's a huge fan favorite not the least of which Harper has said that JBB is his favorite Mavs player.
If we don't get a solid pick in return (Cleveland?), then it would be best to keep him on the roster and have him be "injured" for a significant part of the remaining season. Regardless of who we pick this next draft, I fully expect next year to be a full on win-mode and then JJB could be a big help.
If he were to play out the rest of his career and retire as Maverick, he would be forever loved and remembered by the fans. Plus he brings some serious wife-cred having kids with TWO Miss Universe's

1) JJB is a legend no matter what happens. He's a top 10 Mav in my book even if we trade him or he retires now.
2) Agree that we shouldn't trade him unless something too good to be true pops up.
3) He needs to sit this year for the tank, but I'd love him back as a sub next year if we're good. Dude was one of our best players this year and just has an infectious personality that I want in the lockerroom. He can play well and inspire the rest of the team. Also wouldn't mind having him back as a coach, but he still has 3-4 years of play left.

I agree. JJ is a good dude. Mavz Man made great points, and I love EL's idea of having him back as a coach some day.
