Iraq, Libya and (if current trends continue) North Korea are former state sponsors of terror that were once in pursuit of WMDs (including nuclear weapons). Not anymore. All of this, and al Qaeda has suffered a crushing strategic defeat in Iraq as well. George Bush's policies get the credit. It will be interesting to see what happens with regard to Iran before the end of his term. My guess is that they will be taken off the list as well, but it's a hard thing to predict. Only time will tell, but if he succeeds with Iran as well, then the historical significance of the Bush presidency will be hard to overstate. If that's how it turns out, it will be quite a legacy for the "worst president ever."

Hans Blix, former chief U.N. weapons inspector, said he imagined "Gadhafi could have been scared by what he saw happen in Iraq."

look up the timeline, the negotiations with libya were underway before the invasion of iraq. it began with the negotiations on libya's confession/reparations about lockerbie.
