PGT: Mavs WIN 105-95
DIBS on the next GDT...
Great game by the Mavs...the whole team was great
Dirk with a great game and passing another player on the all time scoring list
VC with a great overall game...scoring and passing. I want this guy to win a ring with us this year
Wright again with a good game
Jet, Marion, West, Roddy, and the rest did their part as well.
Lets get the next one....GOOO MAVS
** Nice reminder there at the end of the FINALS score ...105-95......F Miami

Charles Barkley (and even myself to a degree in the previous games) can shut up and stuff it, Dirk is BACK!
Great win for the Mavericks today. Such a key stretch for this team I hope they keep playing well gotta work on ending the half better though.

I thought he got a double-double, but I only see 9 rebounds credited.
25 points on 11-20 shooting is nice, although the 1-6 from beyond the arc takes some of the shine off...
Regardless,

It's sad because Charles Barkley supported us throughout the playoffs continuously last season. When "Experts" kept giving us no shot, he continued to support us. It's a shame he followed that up with this recent BS.

That play with Carter/Dirk was awesome tonight. The Nuggets weren't sure what to do per se. They started switching it and it was a huge mismatch. But if they double then Carter has a lane to the rim. Or Dirk is wide open.

Carter could be dangerous if he gets into shape and playing alongside Kidd. His shooting form is just ridiculous. Every one of his shots look like they're all going in.

Carter looks very comfortable on the floor with Dirk and Marion - our starting lineup would be sick if he and Kidd could rekindle their old chemistry...

My only nitpick is that Terry just absolutely refuses to close out on shooters.

Dirk is averaging 26.3 points on 32-for-52 shooting from the floor (61.5 percent) with 8.0 rebounds over his last three games.

Too bad they are both too old and slow now to defend almost every other PG. Thats why we need West (and Roddy).

My bullets:
Game:- @dallasmavs beat Nuggets 113.25 to 102.46. Turned out to be a pretty complete game on both ends considering Denver's offensive arsenal.
- Again Mavs not attempting many free throws, actually set a season low with 9.71 P100, but not needed tonight.
- Also a bright spot: Denver only scores 60.40 Points P100 off FTs and in the Paint, they average much more.
- New season highs for AND1 (4.31) and 3FGA (30.20) P100. DRB was more than solid (81.40%) and so was the AST/TOV-ratio (2.31)
- Best defensive quarter was the 4th (80.74). Mavs were able to slow the tempo, no team had a fastbreak point.
- Mavs end up shooting 13-21 on long 2-pointers which is incredible, struggled only within 3-6 feet ( 3-10).
- Denver meanwhile was only 3-14 in the Paint outside the rim (good D!)
Units:- Starting unit outscored Denver 38-24 on 91.66 DefEff. Behind that, the Roddy-Terry backcourt worked as usual: 34-27 on 86.50 DefEff.
- Center-Watch: With Wright (Def: 78.65pp100), Mavs grabbed 42.86% ORB and 58.06% TRB, with Ian Nuggets couldn't get a single offensive board.
- Nuggets shoot 55.56% from Three with Haywood on the court, 23.53% without (?). West-Marion-Carter give up 7-13, rest 2-13
- Bench clash goes to Mavs: With 3+ bench guys out there, +9.54 EffDiff, Nuggets +9.02. But bench vs. bench: Mavs +9.01
- For some reason, again, lineups with 1 or 2 bench players not working: -32.67 on 134.75 DefEff is ugly. Terry as lone sub: -29
Players:- Unadj +/- goes to Carter (+44.95). Effs with him: 124.63 to 96.14. No love for Ian, Terry, West, Odom here.
- Carter leads PER (35.1), Dirk, Wright, Roddy, Marion all 20+, Haywood -4.3. Statistically Terry and Haywood didn't contribute to the win.
- Best rebounder for Mavs was Marion (18.2%), Roddy shot 85.7% eFG and Carter (!) assisted on 27.6% of Mavs field goals while on the floor
Stuff:- And this is the gameflow chart. Mavs take command early, Denver comes closer over time, but the good guys win.

So this is what an nba team looks like when they have practices.

After watching "Linsanity" a bit earlier, this game was a sleeper. Never ever thought I would get more excited about a NY-WSH game than a Dallas game.
Good to see Dirk playing in sync again.

Now that is what i call an offense. Amazing ball movement, bunch of wide open shots, this team is very hard to handle when the ball is moving like that.

Like I said pass ball to Dirk and VC, and we have result -> WIN.
VC has best 3P% = 45.3, and if you don't count centers and Wright, he has also best FG% = 46.2 in our team.

He is super-quick, has a bag full of dribble tricks and is not shy to use them, gets into the paint at will and finishes, throws a lot of nifty passes, shows a lot of energy and passion. The last three games (admittedly against weak opponents) have been a joy to watch.
A shame, the Mavs didn't sign him last year.

We have Booby and West.
And what would have happened if Lin took away from JJB?
I'm definitely a fan of the kid but sometimes players just fit better in certain places. I think NY is a better place for him than Dallas. Also, the last 3 games might have been weak opponents; but he did match up against Deron Williams and Wall in 2 of those games. The game last night vs Washington was also without Melo or Amare and the Knicks are not deep at all. I definitely enjoy what he is doing.

Nah, Golden State (Home Area Team) was willing to offer him a minimum contract with $350,000 guaranteed plus team option for 2nd year. Mavs wanted him on unguaranteed contract for their D-League team. Would've been certainly hard to get many minutes with Kidd, Barea, Hopes for Roddy, Spare-part Jones in front of him (all on guaranteed Cash). Besides, if the Mavs wouldn't have cut him, either Brewer or Stojakovic would've not been signed. I'd say it worked out OK for the Mavs.
Lin could always play (Offense and Defense), problem was shooting and getting Coaches trust. You don't go to the D-League and get a Triple-Double in your first Game while being a Scrub.
Good for him that D'antoni had to play him due to lack of other options. Hope he keeps it up, not necessarily numbers but good play.
-------------------------
As for the Game, the Mavs are now 11-2 when outrebounding the Opponent.

Anything that keeps the ball moving and out of the quicksand hands of Carmelo and amare is a good thing.
How has the Knicks defense looked without those two?
