My lord do we really have to face this team again. It does not seem fare.
Some changes have been made to the A's lineup due too a couple days off.
The Rangers now face Zito, Lidel, and Hudson.

Lets just hope that Pena doesn't stick in our face again.
Jeez, the guy we traded is playing better than our whole offense put together.
Ramos better become a good starting pitcher or this may go down as one of the worst trades every...even eclipsing the trade of Sosa to the Sox.

It was one of the worst trades the Rangers have pulled in years. And there have been some stinkers.

doc, it's entirely too early to tell..what will you be saying if ramos turns into a #2 starter...and a couple of the other guys turn into regular contributors on the team?

the question is, will ramos get the chance to pitch here as long as hart is the gm - considering his love for hard-throwers??

and how many soft toss left handers will they want on the staff?
you have davis and then add ramos...
well, it would be fine if they were spaced out...one the 2nd starter and the other the 5th or so..
i have a feeling that if things don't pick up..hart will have a short leash..that may mean a year and a half or two years..

mench has 4 rbi's today...
maybe the rangers should have examined what they had in the minors before they signed Gonzalez AND Everett?
mench has been very successful in the minors and has looked destined for the majors for quite awhile.
well, maybe keeping kap in center and signing Gonzalez would have been a good idea...
i honestly thought the rangers would deal kapler or cat in the off season..that's the only way i would have seen trading for Everett.
now, what do the Rangers have in the outfield?
Everett
Cat
Kapler
Juan
Greer
and
Mench
even with juan and Everett having some injury issues, the rangers still have a bit of a glut in the outfield.
if mench plays well, i would think he'd have to stay in the majors... is someone going to be on the trade block if mench stay up with the rangers?

I was pretty impressed with Colby Lewis. He dominated a pretty good As lineup for a couple of innings.

I was pretty impressed with Davis. He dominated a pretty good A's lineup for 9 innings.
2 hit shutout. only 1 walk and 1 hit batter.
davis faced 3 hitters over the minimum.
mench had 4 rbi's..
nice game for the rangers..maybe their starting pitching can get them going

no, not really..but the starting pitchers have actually pitched pretty well.
davis was absolutely awesome today..he was helped out by diving catches by kapler and blalock...and a nice play by mench helped as well.
however, he was still amazing tonight

Rangers won again 7-0. Davis went the distance and threw a 2 hitter.

I don't like the trade murph. I doubt Ramos makes a #2. Carlos is producing like we all knew he would in the majors. Soft tossers are available every year. Guys like Pena aren't.

you should know that..now, if ramos doesn't produce, obviously you have more of a gripe..but when the rangers trade a guy that's in the majors for some players that should be ready in a year, it's really impossible to say that the trade is a failure... the rangers got alot of talent in return
and remember, pena has played well for all of a couple of weeks..
calm the knees, they're gonna jerk out of place

The kid the Rangers traded to St Louis (Morris I believe it was) had a great first year after the trade. I think he's out of baseball now. Prospects are gambles and I'd rather gamble on a pitcher than an offensive player.

Warren Morris? He was traded to the Pirates. And he's still playin for them too. But your right, he hasn't come close to duplicating his first season their.

I remembered that it was in the Loizia trade and the local media CRUCIFIED the Rangers for the trade.
But I thought I read in the off season that Morris was looking for a job.

Morris was cut by the Pirates in Spring Training. I didn't know he had signed with Minny.

I had to look it up - I wasn't positive that Rob and I were talking about the same player.
