That sound OK...idk
Theres seems to be a problem in the ATL over J Smiths contract. So I would def. wait to see what happens there and try to snag him...with a sign and trade or something. Give them J Ho and w/e. Smith averages ridicules numbers across the board and is way underpaid.

Anything that gets rid of Stack is a good trade...

I guess it depends on if you think rougly 7.1/per for 3 years is bad or good.
I don't think it's terrible, but it's not great either.
He does a lot of things, he can play either guard position pretty much and some at the 3. You'll take a hit in the scoring department, but he can do the intangibles (score, rebound, pass, play defense).
As for Smith, it does seem like they are on different sides of what they want for the contract. He does want a big deal and ATL isn't sure if it's a good idea. The problem is that if ATL doesn't do it, that doesn't mean we'll have the best offer. Philly and the Pacers are two teams that are pretty ready to pounce on a deal for him as well.

Plus, if they go with Mayo...maybe one of their talented guards could come back in return with us adding a piece or two.
maybe...lol

Now that I think about the Jaric trade it makes sense a lil more. He would be the big 2 that can score for us. I dont think he is starting material, but with Kidd out the dishing he can hit the open Js and 3s. Plus we get a young with pick 34. From there I would make a push for Smith. Offer Howard and Bass. Sign some youngs like Pops and Azubukie(spelling). See if we Can get Diop back behind Damp and I would still sign Green.
Damp / Diop
Dirk / Pops ???
Smith / Jaric / Wright???
Azubukie / Wright / Jaric / Green
Kidd / Lue ???
something like this...if possible. I think there are better names you can throw in there but they are not very likley. We would get much younger..plus maybe with the pick get a pg or a pice thta we can groom for the future.

maybe we can get Buckner and Walker too ; )...that would be some shit if we got Buckner back for like the 5th time.
** But seriously if we did some trade with Minny I would chek about Telfair too because hes still very young and maybe we can set him strait because hes got talent.

Sink
Stack has more value with his contract at the trading deadline.

I guess it's a matter of is this good enough value for him on his own or do you think you can get better value? or...
Do you want to use him as filler in a bigger trade, if there is one out there?
This one seems like it's up to us to happen. If they're going for Mayo, they need to get rid of players or contracts.

I'd do it--if the Mavs are keeping Terry. Jaric is really a big point, so he'd team well with Terry on the second unit. And he can play the 2 or 3 some.
But I'd still want to find a starting 2 and a back up center.
