what if want to bet on the option "Mavs win, and everything is ALMOST right with the world, but not quite yet, it's too soon?"
Mavs win..... 99-93 and finally hold someone under 100

By the way,the Mavs are favored by 6.5 points tonight.
I continue to be amazed at the respect the oddsmakers are giving them on the road after this start. Portland is 4-2.

Mavs 101 Blazers 98
Diop is the defensive star of the game with 5 BS.
Devin is the offensive star of the game with 19 pts and 7 assists.
Randolph scores 26, but is 10-24 from the field.
Key to the game: Keep Zach Randolph off the free throw line.

I might get bitched at for this, but Portlands underated.
That said we're still going to crush them. Mavs win 102-92.

does anyone know what's up with Raef? (besides the fact that he's just not that good) I've been checking Portland's box scores each time they play and he's been mia. the last game I checked he wasn't even on the roster. is he hurt?

Yup..he's hurt. I think he's supposed to be out for a couple of weeks.

Raef LaFrentz: Still Two Weeks Away From Return - 11/7/2006 4:55:39 AM
Update:
LaFrentz (calf) is expected to miss another two weeks, the Portland Tribune reports.
Recommendation:
The calf forced LaFrentz to miss much of preseason and limited him to just eight minutes in the season-opening victory over Seattle. Once considered an area of depth, the front court is down to just Jamaal Magloire and Zach Randolph after injuries to LaFrentz, Joel Przybilla (lower abdominal hematoma) and LaMarcus Aldridge (shoulder surgery).

Well I'm glad this game comes on at 9. I'm ashamed to say that I have not seen a whole game this year because I've fallen asleep before it was over. ![Embarrassment](images/smilies/redface.gif) But I will watch the whole thing tonight. Mavs win 105-94

I could have said the same until the damn Clippers game. The friend I went to the game with has never been to a Mavs win. Then again, he hadn't been to a game since the 90's.
Who else thinks the anonymous Portland-better was Darth Ape?

I would rather watch paint dry, tree grow, and the WNBA than the Miami Heat.

Don't know what this has to do with the rest of this thread, but has anyone else noticed that all the other nature-force singular noun team names belong to the WNBA? If someone on Who Wants to be a Millionaire knew nothing about pro basketball teams, and was asked to pick the men's team out of Storm, Shock, Fever, and Heat, they'd probably get it wrong.

This coming from the biggest Stack hater on the board. Six points and four assists already does look pretty good, don't it?

I'm only watching the stats, and I know its early, but it has to be said:
Welcome back Mavs, we've missed you.

Yep... He's had a couple of defensive breakdowns, but i'll take this production out of that spare any and every game of the year. Hell, if he played this good in about 1/5th of the games this year, I'd be thrilled.

Then all you get are the Spurs...which is almost as bad as just the Rockets...I grew up in Austin, lived a little in Dallas/Mesquite, then to Houston, then Bryan/CS, then Houston again...Have the NBA league pass so as not to miss any Mavs games...
