Default Dem victory party

Where are you numnuts watching the returns tomorrow? The Big O might not have it wrapped up by midnight tomorrow, though. Might take quite a while to count the votes, in such a close election.

I'm considering attending the Republican party at the Hilton on LBJ, since it's closer to home and also to enjoy the sad faces. Yes, I am evil.

Doesn't sound like too much of a kickass party to me. I know that I'll be hanging out with a bunch of other people that have no political affiliation.. We'll probably be doing a little volunteer work.. maybe helping old ladies cross the street.. raising money for wounded veterans. I don't know..something like that.

I'll be sitting at home, but I'm on the west coast so the night should at least be earlier for me than others.

Considering going to an all-night Kenyan anti-colonial rave party if I can find one in the Seattle area, though.

Good god man. Whatever you do, try not to reveal your colors. Never know when you'll run across a freeper, and they are unpredictable as shit. Also, wear a bullet proof vest.

Always been fascinated that in any state, counties with big cities or institutions of higher learning, tend to vote Democrat.

Can't help but feel robbed out of a couple hours, at least, of drama. Romney really dropped the ball on this one.

Slipped off his feet on the sidelines, picked a fight with the Chinese journalist, changed hotels in a midnight move...ahhh, those were the days.

4 More Years. Get Er Done Dems. John McPain & now Mute Romney. Who's next? B Mcconnell. Atleast W could spit a few Spanish words out but after that, like i said long ago, when the gop could care less for the latino vote, dissing women and Inedependents, what do you expect? Not just that but turning John McPain into a robot & then doing the same with Mute Romney. Wake up & get real. Watch the future & remember states like AZ, as it starts turning azul. VA again goes to the Dems. Let's dip er down into NC & how much longer can NC stay rojo? Where does it stop? You do not count out 47%, dis women & latinos and say the south is gonna do it again when azul is even creeping into the south. What's up with Mute & the car bailout? Does he know his roots or does he go the way of the robots? Hang in there Hillary & get er done in another 4. Good job Obama.

"In truth, in the case of individuals, their actual voting is not to be taken as proof of consent, even for the time being. On the contrary, it is to be considered that, without his consent having ever been asked, a man finds himself environed by a government that he cannot resist; a government that forces him to pay money, render service, and forego the exercise of many of his natural rights, under peril of weighty punishments. He sees, too, that other men practise this tyranny over him by the use of the ballot. He sees further that, if he will but use the ballot himself, he has some chance of relieving himself from this tyranny of others, by subjecting them to his own. In short, he finds himself, without his consent, so situated that, if he use the ballot, he may become a master; if he does not use it, he must become a slave. And he has no other alternative than these two. In self-defence, he attempts the former. His case is analogous to that of a man who has been forced into battle, where he must either kill others, or be killed himself. Because, to save his own life in battle, a man attempts to take the lives of his opponents, it is not to be inferred that the battle is one of his own choosing. Neither in contests with the ballot -- which is a mere substitute for a bullet -- because, as his only chance of self-preservation, a man uses a ballot, is it to be inferred that the contest is one into which he voluntarily entered; that he voluntarily set up all his own natural rights, as a stake against those of others, to be lost or won by the mere power of numbers. On the contrary, it is to be considered that, in an exigency, into which he had been forced by others, and in which no other means of self-defence offered, he, as a matter of necessity, used the only one that was left to him."

-Lysander Spooner

"The ostensible supporters of the Constitution, like the ostensible supporters of most other governments, are made up of three classes, viz.: 1. Knaves, a numerous and active class, who see in the government an instrument which they can use for their own aggrandizement or wealth. 2. Dupes—a large class, no doubt—each of whom, because he is allowed one voice out of millions in deciding what he may do with his own person and his own property, and because he is permitted to have the same voice in robbing, enslaving, and murdering others, that others have in robbing, enslaving, and murdering himself, is stupid enough to imagine that he is a “free man,” a “sovereign”; that this is “a free government”; “a government of equal rights,” “the best government on earth,” and such like absurdities. 3. A class who have some appreciation of the evils of government, but either do not see how to get rid of them, or do not choose to so far sacrifice their private interests as to give themselves seriously and earnestly to the work of making a change."

Look up above on the lady munching the corn dog, she just gets by & this is the barking voice of the gop along side Mute? George Allen, how can he be pres when he can't win a senate seat back? This was another one the gop was prepping for pres. Karl relax on your Fixed News station, come back in 4 & run your boy Switch Mconnell, get Neil Savings & Loans Bush or Jebeye Bush or how about an all out women team of Corndog Bachmann & Baracuda Palin. Paint it blue as red will keep on shrinking.

What are you talking about? There was plenty of change! Before Obama was president, there was no such thing as an IPAD! That's right! The Ipad came to fruition under Obama's regime. Does anyone remember what it was like before tablets? We all had to lug around laptops and couldn't play final fantasy 3 while driving. Such dark ages

Were you in a coma?

Averted a Depression, ended a war, killed Bin Laden, passed healthcare reform, helped end DADT, tripled the number of women on the Supreme Court, and doubled the Dow.

Yeah, he was just warmin' up.

2014 election starts now, though. Despite losing the congressional vote, Boehner is still speaker and Kantor is still majority leader and both will continue to do nothing to earnestly participate in responsible governance.

Obama has no re-election to worry about, so OFA should already start organizing to try and flip the House in 2014. I'd love a responsible two-party system, but there is only one party in this country that actually cares about governing.

Edit: I also loved this article. Cuts right through how the right is trying to spin demographic changes: http://gawker.com/5958556/dying-of-t...-2012-election.

It's not so much that Romney lost, you support who you want.. it's how poorly the Republicans forecasted their own fates despite all the facts and polls going into Election Day that makes things sad.

Is it a Fox thing?

Epistemic closure. Anything that defied their narrative became untrustworthy, not because of its processes but because it didn't tell them what they wanted to hear. Hell, the economic fundamentals weren't even on their side - the economy has been adding jobs for years now. UnskewedPolls!

It's something they've been doing for years. Two months after inauguration day they did their first Tea Party protests (taxed enough already!) arguing against a president who didn't raise their taxes, and had in fact recently passed a large tax cut in the form of the stimulus bill. It's like Clint Eastwood arguing with an empty chair. It's easier to deal with things when you don't have to engage with reality.

We can FINALLY use Obamacare to cut off this leech generation of baby boomers who have not only destroyed our national budget but their wealth hoarding has caused some seriously ****ed up deflation. Everyone complains that we won't cover every medical procedure under the sun for old people but I say good. We have to get the money out of the wealthy class somehow and they won't let us touch social security one bit. So well get it in Obamacare sunsetting medicare.
