Support UTA Football
Today UTA released its study on the prospects of returning football to UTA and adding women's golf and soccer.......
The school president has said that he wants to guage the arlingotn community and the UTA community for their reaction on this........if you want your voice to be heard, and make a UTA alumn happy visit this site and let the administration know how you feel........ http://www.uta.edu/sportsexpansion/comment

The reason I never supported a football program at UTA is because you're asking a student body made up of mainly commuter students to foot the bill for an athletic program that would only benefit a small few. Unfortunately, the nature of the "commuter" student is that they don't participate in student elections on tuition increases. As it is, night students already pay for a ton of programs that they have no real access to.

In the past 10 years there has really been a strong movement at UTA to create more of a "Traditional" environment........just in the past 4 years there has been an increase of about 3500 beds at UTA......
UNT has the SAME demographics as UTA...strong commuter presence and night classes........they seem do be doing OK

I would be worried if everything happened quickly.......I am very much a believer in building a strong base over time, that way you avoid dependence on the bandwagon jumpers.......but UTA has (and will continue) to improve over the past 5 years....I just hope Football is a part of it
