If it takes giving up both Green and Hardy to get a legitimate upgrade on this roster you have to do it.

But I know the mavs will end up with guys after the buy out market because they'll ove value their own players

I hope I'm wrong but I just have that feeling the buy out market is what they'll end up doing in order to keep this roster intact

I do not like Kidd, but we have a consistent issue with low effort and physicality. Kidd isnt to blame for DP being the only big, and the team just not getting hard for these games. DP is just outmatched as a starter by most of the league and is barely servica le as a back up in a pinch.

Everyone sucked last night. No box outs, once again poor defense vs every look they had. Everyone out of position. No guards/wings crash the boards. Those players know they lack size but they still stand around and allow others to slip in to gst a rebound. When opposing teams are getting numerous attempts per posession by crashing the glass more than our defense, its bad. Kid can yell that every 2 mins and it still won't make a difference.

Teams play like their coach and Kidd is a stoner with zero motivation and no ability to draw up a play who just blames players for losses.

Luka is our star and he only plays hard when he feels like it. Otherwise he fakes an injury or just plays at 20% of his max.

That's the culture of this team.

What measures do you think any coach could take to get Kyrie, Luka, DP, THJ, Maxi, Curry, Hardy etc to play hard on defense and be fundamentally sound blocking out for rebounds? Im not going to defens Kidd and ive wanted him gone for a while, but the deeper issue is that we don't have defenders... whatsoever. We dont have 2 way players. Just a collection of specialists. I refuse to believe that Kidd and coaching staff arent showing film, attempting to motivate and get the most of what they have.

I think Kidd would steuggle with coaxhing the best team in the league but at some point the players have to be held responsible. You could put the best defensive mind known to man in charge of this team and his family would find him hanging in his closet after 2 months. They dont want to try hard vs teams they should beat and they sleep walk through games with lesser opponents. Almost in double digit losses directly after big, quality wins.

Kidd is dogshit and has poor roster mgmt and low IQ strategist, but Kidd could bull whip these players coming on and off the court and it wouldn't change much. Its like having college players vs NBA teams, doesnt matter who coaches them, theybare going to be severely lacking in some areas. We lack defense and rebounding.

If you had to choose, woukd you rather swap Kidd for a top 10 coach or get a quality back up big and a quality PF?

I will say that Powell has had this best month of basketball since I can even remember. He still sucks and gets hit in the face more than any player in history, but he is finally putting up backup center numbers.

You should NOT have to motivate guys minute by minute and quarter by quarter. He could definitely lay into their asses amd its LONG overdue but he never does.
