It has been lacking on several plays...almost as if he keeps getting caught off guard.

Mark Jackson says the Mavs have to "Take pride on the defensive end" in the second half.
He must be some kind of genius.

Crap, if Carlisle had had the sense not to play JJB vs the Lakers, we'd probably be ahead.

Lisa Salters asking stupid questions...might as well ask him does he like basketball and did he really rape that girl?

If memory serves he usually does well against Pau and Odom defensively.

In the second half we need to get Dirk more touches. He was either scoring or drawing doubles in the post.
Also, I'd like to see Stevenson on Kobe. And when he's out, Marion, not Kidd. Kidd is just too short.
And please please no three point guard lineup.

Lakers fans are the worst fans in sports.
Of the thousand or so at the arena, how many do you think have ever actually lived in California?

Nice to see Roddy, he didn´t do something Special (1 Block, ok), was solid.
We missed 6 easy Points due to Layups nearer than 1 feet...

There were some crazy small lineups out there. I mean Carlisle plays a short rotation against random teams and then on national tv vs the Lakers he experiments. Gotta give him credit.

NO more JJ pleasee
Dirk needs to stop letting people get layups and at least get a hand up...that really pisses me off that he 7 feet and lets people do tht so easy
Haywood is got a few fould to use so he should be even more aggressive second half and just go through Dirk and Jet on O...maybe they can carry us to the win
Ohh and keep Stevenson on Kobe

Roddy looked out of control and nervous. but this experience is what he needs.

Very respectable first half in light of Butler's and Damp's absence against a healthy Lakers team. We could actually have the lead if it wasn't for missing some easy layups. Anyway, if Kobe decided to stay cold and we played some defense in the second half, we might have a shot which would be (much) more than I expected going into the game.

Clearly what hold us back this half was the 3 guard lineup. I don't know why Rick does that. It NEVER works.

Here's hoping that the Mavs will bring it and that the Lakers will get tired in the second half

What do you mean one block ok? Sorry that was an emphatic block and it sure brought the crowd to its feet too bad he got cut and had to be taken out

I think he had two blocks. He is a bit tentative on offense out there, though. He just needs to take it in to the rim high and hard, draw fouls.

It's even more mind boggling that he pulls this Sh*t against LA. LA. This is a huge team, and the best in the NBA. Stevenson is shutting down Kobe and you run a 3 G lineup, giving LA even more mismatches then they already has?
Save your inane crap for when we play NJ. C'mon Rick.

this needs to be noted.
plus the fact that its still a close game and they played pretty bad D in the second quarter.

I know Kobe's not 100%, but you have to feel good about holding him to 6 points in the half (especially with Butler & Damp out).

Haywood not doing much tonight for the Mavs. Kind of a Dampier-like half for him. Hopefully he is more active in the second half. lol at the 3 point guard lineup. Stevenson has done a great job on defense.

Stevenson did a hell of a job on defense...actually even better than when Marion was on Kobe.

it only scares me for the half.
I only feel good about defending Kobe once the game is over.

Bynum is getting too deep in the paint on Haywood...plain and simple. He just needs to force him out a few more feet so he doesn't get easy hook shots.
