I really never thought that winning a championship would be THIS GREAT, but it is. Better than anything I could imagine. I never thought a summer could be this much different winning the big one. Feels like a million bucks and then some. Greatness! The suffering of 06 makes this just so great. What a great revenge tale.
A friend of mine posted this on facebook over the weekend...

My favorite part is watching the Heat lead swell up because you know the hammer is getting ready to drop. And there's nothing sweeter than watching the hammer finally drop.

I don't know where to put this since the board is virtually dead, so I'll put it here.

Just in case it is indeed unclear...
Billy Hunter = Executive Director of the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA)
bombshell = something that is very surprising, shocking, amazing or sensational
(Die Info von Hunter ist eine Nachricht, die sprichwörtlich wie eine Bombe einschlägt... )

You could argue that was the biggest shot of the game. Heat were on a surge and had plenty of time left. After that shot, I don't think they got that close again. You can tell by the crowd's reaction (not really on that vid, but the full game vid) how huge that moment was.

I still wasnt sure, the Heat got so much weak/shitty calls in the 4th...
Barea overacted a little bit too much, as result Chalmers was able to push off on every single possession and still get the and1 etc (i think at least 5 late points in game 6 that shouldnt have counted). Some really weak and1 for Wade and Bosh and Dirk not getting them (the one against Haslem where he hit the deck) etc.
Cant imagine if we lose because of this game 6 and then also game 7...

How do you guys think a 'Hard cap", if it goes through, would affect our guys?

It wouldn't affect the guys we have under contract, but it would certainly affect our FA options and possibly cost us Chandler, since having both him and Haywood on the roster is a luxury that we probably couldn't afford under a hard cap.

Well, what are the chances Chandler takes a pay cut like Dirk did to stay on this team?
Better question, do you think he would even do it?

Probably not many players in their prime that have a ring are gonna be interested in taking a pay cut.

B2B championship is secured....we got Telfair!!!!11111

Sebastian Telfair is interested in signing with the Dallas Mavericks.
"I sure do have a list of teams in my mind," Telfair said. "Those teams being one of the teams to make a run for a championship or the teams that are fighting every year for a championship. Seeing Dallas win a championship, congratulations to them, but I'm jealous. I'm extremely jealous. Dallas is definitely on my list. They've got the gold right now. It's not a bad thing in this league to want to go where the gold is. If you can compete and help the team win a championship, that's one of the main focuses in the NBA."

Scrubs like Telfair shouldnt have any list at all...

Hey folks, I found this gem yesterday. I've always felt NVE was the one who turned this game around. I wonder what he's up to now...

Just wanted to remind everybody that the Dallas Mavericks beat the Miami Heat, four games to two, to win the NBA National Championships Finals.
That is all.

Wait, weren't we supposed to lose to Portland in the 1st round?
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_yl...ns_2011_041511
http://sportstwo.com/threads/184333-...an-Wojnarowski
There's fail all over these links.
Quote:
"Nevertheless, Nowitzki has a reputation as a loser. And, with the Mavs looking nowhere near their best despite holding the third seed, a first-round exit would seriously harm Dirk's reputation for the foreseeable future. On the other hand, a convincing win over Portland (plus a strong second-round showing) would hopefully make everyone realize that Dirk is a pretty darned impressive playoff performer. Or maybe not. Europeans have terrible body odor and teach our children socialism, so they must be weak."

I was pissed off beyond what I've ever been in my life when we had a collapse, and I gladly ate that crow. But I never thought for a second we'd be out in the first round vs Portland.

Just finished watching Game 7 of the series final with the Lakers in 88' on NBA greatest games. Remember at the time it gave me the hope that the Mavs were the team of the future capable of bringing an end to the Lakers. Boy that sure took a long time to culminate. But that wait made this champianship run all the sweeter. Perhaps this is blasphamy but the result of this season totally fullfilled my NBA wishes and I don't really care that if they ever play again.

I'm almost there with you on this -but- I wish to see the remaining great years Dirk has left and don't want one taken away by a strike, as well as let us enjoy defending.

Just re-watched game 6. Jeez Miami missed soo many free throws. Things could have been interesting down the stretch if they hit some of those. Also could have been interesting if Chalmers would have passed the ball to Wade WIDE OPEN on the wing late. Instead he dribbled straight into traffic and got the ball stolen by Dirk on a bad dump off pass to Haslem.

I don't know about you guys, but I can't wait for next year's Finals (assuming there is one) just to see Dirk's face included in the opening "Pantheon of Greatness" montage. Just thinking of it gives me goosebumps and I'm sure I'll have another good sports-cry when I see it.
