Dog Whisperer on National Geographic.

I highly recommend it to anyone who owns a dog.

I'm thinking of making Battlestar Galactica my summer viewing project this year. Can anyone vouch for it's awesomeness?

I've heard good things.

I discovered BSG a couple of years ago and it was right up my geeky sci-fi alley.

Its soap-operish at times, but I've become fairly invested in the characters, and have overall really enjoyed it.

I've heard that some people are turned off by the fact that they turned the Starbuck character into a female role, but I never watched the original and had no previous attachments to the male version of Starbuck.

That's all I got.

I have absolutely no pre-conceived notions about the show, the original, the mini-series...that whatever. Don't know about any of that.

Someone recently told me that if I liked Firefly (which I love) then I would like BSG.

as long as you promise to not like BSG as much as Firefly, I give you permission to watch it.

Don't skip the mini-series! I'm pretty sure it's included on the first season DVD, but just in case, be sure to watch it first.

Honestly, I'm kinda skeptical that you'll like it. Our TV viewing paths don't seem to cross that much.

BSG is pure greatness. Only 2 episodes have I been lulled into boredom this year those being the Gaius Baltar specific episodes. But man it's getting good. Only 3 more (there wasn't one last night for some reason) until a hiatus until fall before the final 10. And if last weeks episode wasn't greatness, I don't know what greatness is.

No doubt. That scene a couple of weeks ago where _________ shot _________ in the back of the __________ to maintain the alliance was probably my favorite BSG scene of all time.

Here's a good list of things that will and won't be back next year

http://www.thefutoncritic.com/guide.aspx?id=upfront

I kind of liked that New Amsterdam show, and Back to You was an ok half hour comedy. Too bad. But with Pushing Daises and Chuck getting renewed, it's hard to complain.

I just got done with the 3 hour "miniseries."

Passable...Intriguing. The writing is kind of boorish. I thought the pacing was a little weird.

Is the show better?

Not sure if anyone else is a space nerd like me, but from what I saw last night )in between laker/celtic gayness) that new Discovery Channel documentary "When we left Earth" is really excellent. I DVRd it.

To fight the boredom this week I am starting House from the beginning. I wouldn't call it a "great" show, but it's solid, with a great central character.

Top Chef season finale coming up this week. It's been an odd season, I think. Not bad, just odd.

Beyond that...not a whole lot going on tv wise right now.

What a gem, on FUSE of all channels, although I think it was only a 1 season thing:

NOFX Backstage Passport.

I'm hooked, I gotta record all episodes, but first I need to call someone to cut the tree branch that swings in front of my dish with stronger winds and kills my reception.

lol. I hate Lisa. No idea how she beat out Dale and Spike.

Dale has only himself to blame for not being there. He absolutely had the talent to be in the Final, but he couldn't work well with others.

Lisa....gag. I loved the comment at the end of last week's episode: "Congratulations, you won the bronze medal".

i loved that comment from richard as well. it followed lisa's bitchy "i know antonia just left, but a F'in congratulations would have been nice".

i kinda see her point, because if antonia had made it, they'd all be jumping around like schoolgirls. but the line from richard was great.

i'd be happy with either richard or steph (who i think looks like a fatter kate from LOST for some reason) winning.

I do think dale kind of got a raw deal. but a talented chef has gone home during restaurant wars before (Tre from last season for example). if you take on the role of executive chef, your head is on the chopping block.

i do think there's been A LOT of producer intervention. I like richard, but how did he make it past the challenge where he left scales on the fish? that is a HUGE screw-up. anyone else would have been sent home.

That was part of a team challenge. Maybe his team didn't come up on the chopping block? I remember the episode but I don't remember who was eliminated.

But you're probably right that producers are involved in decisions. Although, if producers are that involved, they should have stopped the second half of the lesbo couple from saying "I'm doing this for her" every 5 seconds. I almost gave up the show completely before she was booted.

ha ha, no kidding! "i'm doing this for Zoe!" "i'm doing this for Zoe!" who cares?!?!?

i also think that's why Lisa has stuck around so long. Cause she makes for good drama. It's kind of clear in the beginning who the top chefs are, so ahy not keep Lisa around if it's between her and someone else who is good, but won't win? she brings the drama and attractiveness (just checking to see if you're reading) to the show.

just looked at an epsiodes recap online. The fish scale episode was the Element themed one (water, earth, fire, air). Team water (richard's team) and team Earth were the bottom two teams. But Zoe went home from team earth because team earth scored lowest among the guests.

but to me, scales on a fish is MUCH worse than food that just doesn't taste as good as someone else's. i'm glad richard is around, but that seemed bogus.

I'm glad you didn't leave any space between "attractiveness" and the parenthesis. I almost passed out there.

Top Chef finale tonight..I'm pretty excited..and need to get home.

Two comments:

From the interviews of her fellow contestants, it sounds like Lisa is getting a poor edit.

However, if she somehow wins, I will probably puke on my shoes.

I hope Richard and Stephanie don't blow it!

I'm going to re-watch Chuck over the summer. If you didn't watch it, I recommend you do.

Chucks sister...aka.... gift shop girl (scrubs)... is so hot. So very hot. I want to put a baby in her hot. And you will too.

My Thoughts on Top Chef Finale. **Spoiler Alert**

- Great Finale in general.

- I'm glad that Lisa didn't win it all! It pissed me off when they were in the waiting room and she said how Stephanie took 1 & 3 and she took 2 & 4--right in front of Richard. What a bia!

- Richard choked real bad...but don't say it! Seems like he tried to put some reverse psychology, but it totally backfired. Made him look very weak, and not a Top Chef at all.

- Stephanie was well deserved of the honor. She has been very consistent throughout the show.

I was extremely relieved Lisa didn't win. I just think if it's a realtively close finale you have to take the overall season into account. It's the same reason I was pissed that Illian (no idea how to spell it) won season 2.

But Lisa would have been worse. Very glad she didn't win.
