It depends on where you are..in Dallas it's still raining I think.....I found that the further north and west I got, the more stuff was on the roads, but it's mostly slush ice/snow mix. It's pretty wet. Not too icy yet.

It did cause my Accord to slide a tiny bit on a couple of bridges. As the temp drops it could get worse.

Alls I know is that when I look out that window all I see are cars not moving on the road. So I will be waiting until it clears to even attempt the drive home.

Down in the ATX it's a light drizzle and 45 degrees. You guys are definitely getting the worst of it.

Once it snowed here on Easter, I believe. And of course, it snowed on Thanksgiving once, as Leon Lett knows all too well.

I hope the AAC isn't empty tonight.

I was going to say something to the effect of "the Cowboys don't play well in the snow because they're from Dallas" but then I remembered they played Miami...

Meh, I think it was a low B. I wasn't too fond of that class to be honest. I was in the honors program, and it turned out to be a bunch of literature classes, almost like a book club, which just isn't my cup of tea. I'm more of a math/econ guy.

Texas Christian University. I'm about to graduate in May, and then I'm off to grad school (I think). I'm looking at A&M, UConn, and Oklahoma State right now. I got a positive from UConn and the other two haven't responded yet.

Btw, to whichever mod updated the title of the thread, I have to admit that I like it. Just curious though, do us peasants have that power to edit the titles of our threads? I was looking for a way to do it right when I was bumping it but a didn't see one.

For anyone headed dcowntown, 35 is fine. 183/114 just before the 35 merge....not so much.

Don't suddenly break or turn your steering wheel when you're on ice...

There - now you all know as much as any northerner when it comes to driving in these conditions... Please resume 60mph speed limits again (especially where thousands of cars have already broken up the ice, you morons!)

I'd like to thank the lady that drove 10 mph on the ramp to get on Woodall Rogers from 35 N today. You made my morning fantastic, and you went above and beyond by driving along the center line, so that everyone in the lane next to me also had a fantastic morning.

I did fine until I got to the office and had to navigate throught he parking garage.

Going all of 3 mph, on one ramp, my car slid into the wall...argh...a little scratch on the righ rear fender...but hey, at least I wasn't being stupid and trying to pull a Fast and Furious type of parking lot turn!!!

By the way, we trudged along 190 at about 40 mph...that was at about 10:30 AM this morning.

What's the forecast for tomorrow? Maybe I need to bring my work home and work out of the house tomorrow?

Was it icy?

She might have been an angel...

A few years ago I totaled my car going up the onramp to the highway.

Probably hadn't even hit 20 mph when my car spun and hit the median that separates ongoing traffic.

If it wasn't icy, then she was definitely an idiot and not an angel...

And if any of you know anyone from the north or from the the midwest that claim that Texans can't drive on ice..just know that they can't drive on ice either. I've never seen worse driving on ice in my life than the time back a few years ago in Denver... I was working up there for a half a year or so... they had a nice relatively small ice storm that shut down Denver and the surrounding cities. People were clueless. It's just how it is. People don't know how to drive on ice. Yeah, many are pretty decent at driving in snow..but snow and ice aren't the same thing.

It's been raining cold, cold rain here in nashville for like 2 weeks. We got one day of snow.

Plano Parkway was a blasty blast at 630 am going to work...you could clearly see where the potentially icy spots where and where everything was ok, but everyone had to drive 15-20 mph the whole friggin way.

An illustration of Texas weather--

Last week, we had a day here in Austin where the high was 83 degrees, and the low was 30. That's a 53 degree shift in one day.

Today, a mere 10 days later, the high is 37 and the low is 36, for a range of 1 whopping degree.

I have lived in a bunch different places all over the country, and they all say

"If you don't like the weather in _________, just wait 5 minutes!!"

Like their particular state or city is unique or special in some way. It cracks me up.

If it wasn't icy, then she was definitely an idiot and not an angel...
Well, yeah, it was icy. But there was sand everywhere, and the rest of traffic was moving at 30 or so, maybe less.

She was just going ridiculously slow.

I do believe you see a larger variance in weather from mild to extreme here in Texas than you do in most other states in the country.

Did you use your horn?

I'm a huge supporter of using your horn.

Too many people don't use it or think it's impolite. My thoughts are that it is on your car for a reason.

I think we're potentially in for a similar situation later this week

*Doing the weatherman hand motions to show a cold front coming*
I think on Wednesday or Thursday we'll be in the 70s then the next day you see a 30 degree drop.

True, although Texas has a broader range of temperatures than most regions of the U.S.

Winter in Texas is a roller coaster.

I'm a fan of flashing if someone is going too slow.

Horn is more for not paying attention (not moving when light is green or a shitty lane shift). I use it much more often on my motorcycle.
