The complaints are two fold.
1) What Kidd said is a bs excuse. We dont have a proven track record of good dwfense with Maxi and DP vs small ball. DP had an incredible night for him and isnt due to do anything close to that for years, if ever again. He was a huge help for a stretch in the 4th, but its a huge stretch to even hint that he is any type of notable defender, even against small ball.

2) Kidd has done nothing but give guys random hooks that make no sense to anyone. Lively should have been rewarded with the same or more minutes after Wednesdays performance. He needs different looks to learn. Instead DP is back in the driver seat and Maxi is allowed to bumblefuck his way through the entire game.

This is my take on why so many are complaining. What has really changed, aside from 2 wins in a row in a while? Overusing DP, Maxi, TJH? - Check
Wildcard ass lineups and rotations? - check
Luka single handedly slapping a bandaid on a poorly managed game by thr coach including not using challenges on crucial momentum plays? - check
No plays called for Luka to post up, even when Kidd notes "Small Ball" ? - check
Lively kills in last game and is reqarded with half the minutes next game? - check

Get this jaggoff Kidd outta here. I was hoping for the best with the guy coming in and he had a good first year. But since then its been a free fall into the dumpster fire.

Why does Kidd need an excuse? I don't understand this idea. What he said was his exact thought process imo, and who are the random hooks? The Mavs have never had a center on the level of Lively, since Kidd has been here. Powell and Maxi have always been the better options.

Well, I mentioned a lot more than just those things.

It's an excuse to dampen fans and media criticism for going back to DP and Maxi for no logical reason. If you agree that Mavs havent had the level of Lively at center, then how do you not understand the complaints. The idea that Kidd might actually believe that Maxi and DP are vital for defending small ball is reason enough to file a complaint. A mediocre, short manned Nets team dictating our lineups is clown shoes too.

I cant count the times that guys like Hardy, Josh, Wood etc., light it up for a cpl games and then Kidd just dnpcd or gives them nothing meaningful right after...random hook. Lively was productive vs the Nets then random hook.

Being optimistic about a fresh season is all good. But again, as I asked earlier, what has really changed aside from a cpl minor upgrades to the roster.

There were a few plays where Kleber was at the free throw line and there goes a back door from the wing for a layup, that's 4-6 gimmies, does Lively change those? Never know until we try it. November/December is when we try those things, live ammunition.

I meant that I don?t understand the complaints about Powell getting a small amount of minutes. He played less than Lively, and he was good in those minutes. I totally got the frustration with Maxi and THJ, and explained how I thought they sucked.

The idea that Kidd needs to appease Twitter jockeys and YouTubers is funny to me. He only needs to answer to Cuban, Nico, and the players. People thinking Kidd is making decisions to either troll or appease them/us are suffering from everything is about me syndrome.
