Have we thought about picking up Bin Laden as a free agent?

Avery said he didn't want to blow up the team this offseason.

Can anyone find a full transcript of it?

(I hear some of his rhetoric matches up with a certain political party in this country...)

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to DevinFuture again.

good allah that dude is long-winded.

one thing to keep in mind when reading all of this stuff is that OBL doesn't give a rat's patootie what you and I think -- even tho he's nominally addressing we the people he's really addressing the interests and concerns of Joe Abdul Jihadi Sixpack....

in early writings you could basically see that he was addressing the question "why is it necessary and acceptable to attack American citizens rather than (only) the American government?"

his answer is that the american people are responsible for electing the government and therefore they are responsible for the government's actions. this is a constant and continuing theme -- and it's really important on his end that he make the case that an aggressive jihad against the *far* enemy be taken up by the jihadi on the street.

.... now it seems to be now somebody has shot back and said, "hey wait a minute obama, the American citizens went out and elected a bunch of anti-war dems? can we really keep targeting them?"

obama says, "yeah, because even tho the gov't is controlled by corporations, it's still the people's responsibility for reigning it in"....or more precisely....

"it is imperative that you (american people) free yourselves from all that (crap the gubmint does)."

with the implicit message being that until the american people free themselves from the corporate controlled us government the jihadis should keep jihadin'.

cheers

oh yeah....osama also says that muslims should pay only (the equivalent of) a 2.5% tax. In this way, at least, he bears no resemblance to the Democrats.

He's also obviously talking to the koskids and the dems. It could be right off a dailykos website.

I think you overestimate Bin Laden's interest in intra-party squabbles between the Dems and Pubs.

He may have pulled much of his material from dissident and left-wing sites, but his target audience is his audience not us.
