Cuban's Last Dance, still no Kobe
Quote:
The bionic billionaire won't be boogeying down any more. At least not on television.
Mark Cuban, who recovered from hip-replacement surgery a few short months ago, was cut from "Dancing With the Stars" Tuesday night.
The Dallas Mavericks owner, who made a fortune during the Internet boom, left to a standing ovation and calling the experience "amazing."
"There's always going to be a moment in all of our lives when you have to strip away who everybody thinks you are and stop pretending who you might want to be and just take a chance," Cuban. said afterward.
His partner, Kym Johnson, appreciated his effort. "People can see how far you've come. I think they were just appreciating you so -- it was really nice."
The hip-replacement clearly left Cuban less mobile than the other competitors, but he still managed to last for five weeks. He said training for the program helped him drop 30 lbs.
Indy Racing League driver Helio Castroneves continues to carry the torch for the sports world, advancing despite getting his lowest scores yet from the judges.
NFL great Emmitt Smith and Olympic speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno have won the last two competitions.

Let's turn this into another Kobe thread (afterall, it totally makes sense to have more threads about someone who plays for the Lakers than we do about our own players...)

I watched a couple of episodes of that Dancing with the stars, and no offense to Cuban, who actually did us a bit of a solid by giving a good show, but his dweebness had as much to do with his lack of mobility as did his hip.

I tried watching it, but didn't make it past the first episode. I've got nothing against reality tv, but that was just boring. Plus, all of the dances are on YouTube...I did watch all of his performances. He did better than I ever could, but he was still awkward.

I thought Cuban actually had a very graceful exit, and it made me rethink what a self-absorbed ass he is.
For about thirty seconds or so.

Both are twinkle-toes. Cuban can obviously dance. But he just doesn't have those twinkle-toes.
