He seems pretty happy about it. Hopefully nothing serious.

Like I said, I definitely like having Barber in a running back by committee. I'm not arguing that. I'd love to get a Jerius Norwood or MoJo type here here to complement Barber. But Jones is not one of those guys. He's a guy who gives us nothing. I don't really want to totally scrap him, but I'm all for giving Barber at least 75% of the carries at this point.

Henry with the INT.
If I was Matt Moore and saw Reeves on Drew Carter, I would lob it up every single time.

If Anthony Henry wasn't on the team would we have 5 picks?

I don't like the achilles speculation from the NFL TV guys. Hopefully just an ankle sprain that will heal in a week or so.

Reeves/Newman as opposed to Henry/Newman? To answer your question, no.

I'll wager yes since Hamlin has 5 and T-New has 4

Witten normally makes that catch.
Carolina's CB's are all over our WR's now
For all you TO haters out there, this is why he is important for our team.

I sure hope Terry Glenn's knee is going to be ready for soon. I really don't want to see Miles Austin running routes for us in the playoffs.

I hear what you are saying. But in some respects, Barber IS the MoJo type of guy, for this team. And as we saw a couple plays ago, Barber will get negative yard, too, when the defender is unblocked in front of him. I think we just selectively remember the Jones runs more, because Barber is a flashier and grittier runner.
If we didn't have Barber, I imagine that Jones would have a few more touchdowns himself.
I guess I'm just saying that Barber's success shouldn't make Jones' production somehow less good than it is. Jones does a decent job.

Even if we have Glenn out there. If TO is out, we don't have a big possession receiver anymore.

Well considering half our team is in the medical ward, I'll take a 17-7 lead at halftime.

a hurt thumb from your star quarterback. no services from your star receiver. no starting center.
Yet, we throw the ball 32 times.....
Garrett's coaching stock is dropping as we speak lol. Maybe, that means we can hold on him to him for another year or two.

Pretty brain dead on that throw.

The comparisons I made weren't with respect to role. It was more with respect to running style. I'd like a fast guy like MoJo or Jerius Norwood to complement Barber so you get that contrast in running style. Julius Jones is supposed to be that speedier guy, but out on the field you just don't see it.
If we didn't have Barber, Jones may have 2 or 3 more touchdowns, but he isn't a double digit touchdown type guy. He doesn't have the vision, power, or tenacity at the goalline to bust it in.
And I don't think it's selective memory. Barber averages over a whole yard per carry more than Julius. Those numbers speak for themselves. And I would say those are skewed because Marion gets more short yardage situations (goal line and 4th down) which deflates that average a little bit.

great point. I mean, just take the best run of the season as an example. He ran into his own endzone, and shrugged off 9 Patriots on his way to two yards.

Well we do have Witten for that, but you are right that this team isn't built to win a Super Bowl without TO. Glenn may make things easier, although I'm skeptical of depending on a WR in his mid 30s coming off a serious knee injury making a big contribution right away.

Our special teams tackling has been pretty bad.

High ankle sprain isn't a whole lot more encouraging. Those can be kind of nasty - one of those that can lingers for a while

Jay Ratliff is playing some darn good ball this year. It's amazing that he was a backup at the beginning of the season and he turns into the best d-lineman we have.

Well, our pass rush came through. It was looking like the Panthers were for sure going to get a TD, but those sacks came in the nick of time.
