I can't decide what makes me happier, that Harden was picked 2nd to last, or that Trae Young was picked last.

Oh Harden all day. Trae has done nothing to diminish the integrity of the game, to my knowledge. Only guy I hate more is Wade. Rondo is maybe 3rd most hated. Chris Paul and then Jimmy Butler amongst current guys.

Gotta feel that if Luka were healthy and had played to his level, he would have been drafted earlier. Watched a clip of it and seemed Giannis was more honoring Embid and Siakam with his choices. What was cool is you could tell he knew Luka was going next, but really wanted him.

Luka expected to play Wednesday in the last game before the break. One game on and then the break.
Almost hope he just takes Wednesday off to get another few days of rest.

Mark Followill: Luka update from Rick Carlisle: “He scrimmaged 5-on-5 yesterday and today. The hope is he’ll play Wednesday. It depends on how he feels and how he tolerates the last two days.”
Luckily they play the Kings on Wednesday, so hopefully he won’t play the whole game.

The fire in his eyes... I pity whoever we play against when he comes back.

@espn_macmahon: “I’m ready,” Luka Doncic told reporters after practicing today. He’ll play tomorrow night vs. Kings and in the All-Star Game. (The All-Star Game was never really in question. Sorry, Devin
@ESefko: Luka Doncic said he intends to play both the rising stars game and the All-Star game this weekend in Chicago.

Most games with more than 30 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists this season:
Luka Doncic: 21
James Harden: 21
Giannis Antetokounmpo: 17
LeBron James: 12
It's hard to believe the mind-boggling numbers Luka is posting as a 21-year old.
The kid is special.

Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic may collect another award to add to his growing collection. Saturday, it was announced that he’s a finalist for this season’s Most Improved Player.
Bam Adebayo of the Miami Heat and the New Orleans Pelicans’ Brandon Ingram are the other two finalists. Both are having standout seasons and were named All-Stars for the first time in their careers this season—like Doncic. However, their numbers haven’t taken the same leap that Doncic’s have.
The winner will be announced on TNT—Woj or Shams will break the news first on Twitter—during their coverage of the NBA playoffs.

One of the best analyses of the game 4s and Luka I've seen.

1st team all-nba in only his second year. I'm trying to think of all the players in NBA history who've done that.
I know Duncan and Bird were 1st team as rookies. I think Jerry West and Oscar Robertson were as well. Wilt and Wes Unseld were MVP as rookies. I'm pretty sure Kareem was first team by his sophomore season. I don't know the others off the top of my head, but I know it's a short, short list. Among players who were NOT first team all-nba in their sophomore seasons- Jordan, Lebron, Magic, Shaq, Kobe, Durant, Hakeem, and pretty much anyone else you can think of.

Wow! Thanks for posting this. Great to put it in context. Congrats Luka. Rarefied air for our wunderkind.
Biggest surprise to me is Magic not being all-nba by second season! I’m guessing Moses or Kareem, Bird, Dr.J, Gervin are locks. Who is the 5th guy? Alex English? Seems like it would have to be another guard, can’t think of any. Pistol Pete, Tiny, Barry and Westphal were all past prime.

It was Dennis Johnson. Phoenix version.
And yeah, I was kind of shocked to find out that Magic didn't make it by year two, considering he was Finals MVP as a 20 year old rookie.

^^ Just checked on Bill Russell. Wasn't all-nba first team until year 3. (Granted, it's harder for centers because there's only one spot, but still.)

Players Season Age (at end of regular season)
LeBron James 2004-05 21 years, 110 days
Max Zaslofsky 1946-47 21 years, 114 days
Luka Doncic 2019-20 21 years, 168 days
Kevin Durant 2009-10 21 years, 197 days
Tim Duncan 1998-99 21 years, 359 days
Rick Barry 1965-66 21 years, 359 days
If the 2019-20 season would have ended as per schedule on April 15th, Doncic, at 21 years and 47 days, would have been the youngest ever to receive an All-NBA First Team selection

Luka 4th in MVP voting behind Lebron, Harden, and Giannis. I'm pretty happy with that.

I had Luka third behind Giannis and Lebron, but that's still not too shabby for a 21 year old sophomore.

Yeah, I'm not trying to call anyone out, because we're fans - I know how it is.
But, if your favorite player finishes 4th in MVP voting and makes 1st team all NBA at age 21, in his second year, and you're upset about that...you might want to take a step back chew some perspective gummies.
