The Kings have terrible luck with injuries. They seem to be cursed.

Now that's great news! With their two point guards out, its just what the Mavs need.

It is not rude. It is part of the NBA. Hope you are healthy. If the other team is not healthy, well tough luck. I think he was happy that the mavs were going to play a weaker team.

RE: Bibby hurt in practice...may not play
There's always somebody that will come on and proclaim their happiness that an opposing player is injured. My only consolation is that if the shoe were on the other foot and Steve were injured I know there would be some moron on kingsfans.com who would rejoice. Little consolation that. Injuries are the most unfortunate part of the game, and you have to feel for Sacramento fans all the injuries they've had to endure. From a competitive standpoint, though, the bottom line doesn't change at all. The Kings will be playing to win with or without Bibby, and the Mavs need to do the same.

RE:Bibby hurt in practice...may not play
I don't think anyone should wish an injury on any player -- other than Karl malone -- but I don't see what is wrong with someone being happy about a lucky break. It isn't as if this is a career threatening injury for Bibby. Also, I believe a lot of injuries are caused by teams having to compensate for their weakness by playing desperately or out of control. Dirk Nowitzki was injured for the same reason in the San Antonio series in last season's playoffs. Our lack of rebounders made him vulnerable to injury. The same way the Kings lack of depth at point guard probably helped contribute to Bibby's injury.

If Bibby does miss a game or two, is it really a good thing?
First, it means Christie will be spending more time on Nash.
Second, they have 2 other guys that are capable of running the point. Anthony Peeler and Rodney Buford.

We would have tied the series up 2-2 anyway. Its pretty sad that we won't even get credit for that. Injuries lower the total quality of the gameplay and nothing sucks worse for a fan than having one of your key players go down in the playoffs.

I don't think Christie can deal with Nash for extended time... and even if he can that will relieve the defensive pressure on someone else. I would rather face Peeler than Bibby as well.
There has to be something about the Kings style of play that lends itself to injury. They are constantly overwhelmed with injury.

RE: Bibby hurt in practice...may not play
That's the last thing I wanted. Bibby out. Does it benefit our playoff hopes? Yes. But we'll have to hear it from the media one more year with another * on our playoff runs. I don't live in Dallas, all the Mavs news I hear are from the media and they already talk enough crap as it is. It truly pisses me off, pardon my french.

RE:Bibby hurt in practice...may not play
The media wouldn't give us credit anyway. Even if we beat them when they were healthy.
And as bad as we have been playing we can use any edge we can get right now. It probably won't hurt them that much in the next game or 2. But it will really hurt them to not have Bibby over extended time.
All this is talk is probably pointless anyway. He is probably fine.

Peeler and Buford are by no means adequate back ups at the PG position. If Bibby isn't able to play in tomorrow's game, I think that is another huge blow to the backcourt depth of this team. It's shaky at best without Bobby Jackson in the lineup. I don't think there is a team in the NBA that wants to rely on Buford in the playoffs, and for the Kings to attempt to do so in game 3 at the AAC will be difficult at best (maybe Rodney will prove me wrong, though).

even if bibby was healthy and we beat the kings they'd still make excuses and say webber wasn't 100%. the media hates the mavs and loves the lakers. too bad the lakers won't be surviving this playoff. =)

RE:Bibby hurt in practice...may not play
I don't think injuries should ever be rejoiced. Not because of some disrespect for hurt people thing but because of what it does to the games. Now if the Mavs win, it should be expected, The Kings are missing a starter. if the Mavs lose, it makes the loss that much more insulting. If you are rejoicing the fact that a Kings player is injured, it means you don't think the team ic capable of beating them when they are healthy.

RE:Bibby hurt in practice...may not play
I respect the players and wish them best officially. But when hearing the news, the bad "happy" idea really occurred to me. If I knew we would beat the healthy Kings, I'd like to see them healthy. Otherwise,... I'm just tooooooo worried. I know I shouldn't have any bad thought like that, otherwise we might get something back like last playoffs' injured Dirk.

Amen to that! Besides, nothing is more classless than celebrating your opponent's injuries. I hope Bibby's a quick healer - I want to seem him on that court at the end of Game 6, with his head hung low.

RE:Bibby hurt in practice...may not play
I just don't think that we should be celebrating a win when we haven't had a history of playing shorthanded teams well
However, I hope that we absolutely throttle the Kings for the remainder of this series; it only takes one game to turn momentum, hopeffully today will be it

RE:Bibby hurt in practice...may not play
Bibby injured; status unclear
By Bee Sports Staff
April 24, 2004
Kings starting point guard Mike Bibby suffered a strained right hip muscle at the end of practice Friday, and his status for today's playoff game in Dallas is in question.
Details of how Bibby became injured were unavailable Friday night. Whether he plays today will be a game-time decision.
However, Kings assistant director of media relations Darrin May said Bibby told him, "There's no way I'm missing this game."
If Bibby can't start, Doug Christie likely will get the nod at point guard with Anthony Peeler starting at Christie's shooting-guard spot.

Too bad if Bibby couldn't play.
I wouldn't like an asterisk in the title.
