Default Let me start a Peja trade

I know the Kings won't do it but here's one.

Sacramento trades: Peja Stojakovic ( ppg, rpg, apg in minutes)
Sacramento receives: C Shawn Bradley (3.3 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 0.3 apg in 11.7 minutes)
SF Eduardo Najera (3.0 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 0.4 apg in 12.4 minutes)
SF Josh Howard (8.6 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.5 apg in 23.7 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +14.9 ppg, +10.8 rpg, and +2.2 apg.

Dallas trades: C Shawn Bradley (3.3 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 0.3 apg in 11.7 minutes)
SF Eduardo Najera (3.0 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 0.4 apg in 12.4 minutes)
SF Josh Howard (8.6 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.5 apg in 23.7 minutes)
Dallas receives: Peja Stojakovic ( ppg, rpg, apg in games)
Change in team outlook: -14.9 ppg, -10.8 rpg, and -2.2 apg.

TRADE ACCEPTED

Kings get Josh Howard, Najera and Bradley. Nice players to fill out their roster.

Another one is

Dallas trades: PF Christian Laettner (5.9 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.9 apg in 20.5 minutes)
SF Josh Howard (8.6 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.5 apg in 23.7 minutes)
Dallas receives: SF Peja Stojakovic (8.6 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.5 apg in 23.7 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -14.5 ppg, -10.3 rpg, and -3.4 apg.

Sacramento trades: SF Peja Stojakovic (8.6 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.5 apg in 23.7 minutes)
Sacramento receives: PF Christian Laettner (5.9 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.9 apg in 48 games)
SF Josh Howard (8.6 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.5 apg in 67 games)
Change in team outlook: +14.5 ppg, +10.3 rpg, and +3.4 apg.

TRADE ACCEPTED

They get Howard and Laettner who is a good passing center which is the staple of the Sacramento big men. Howard becomes their starting SF.

I'm sure the Kings can get better players but they have no bad contracts and Peja's salary is not that large.

Default RE: Let me start a Peja trade

#1. an unproven second year guy a "Rudy" type with a bad knee...and a really really tall morman...yeah Sacto would jump on that one

#2. the unproven and an old dude who once hit a big shot in college(contract reasons I suppose)

two both of these proposals.......the kings front office guys giggle so hard that tears pour from their eyes and then, after the laugh-fest...they take the paper the proposals are written on and have a very large mammal poop on them.

Paja is a star, please keep that in mind.

Let me give you a hint:

Stojakovic is an young MVP candidate. If you're going to trade Peja Stojakovic you start by looking for other young MVP candidates, then you work you way - top down - to a player that meets your needs. Here's how it works:

Duncan - SA says no
Garnett - Minny says no
Jermaine O'neil - Indy starts talking
Yao Ming - Houston says no
etc etc etc

Next you run through the best player on every roster in the league

Nowitzki - Cuban says no
Kirilinko - Utah talks
Paul Pierce - Boston talks
Vince Carter - Toronto starts talking
Gasol - Memphis talks
Stoudamire - Phoenix talks
Lebron - Cleveland says no
Murbury - Thomas offers him
Curry & Chandler - Chicago talks
etc etc etc

Finally you arrive at a guy like Artest. He dominates defensively. Peja dominates offensively... Salaries match... Do they do a deal? (Sac might want more considering Artest's reputation)

Here's how you don't trade an MVP candidate:

You do not trade Peja Stojakovic by trying to match a collection of salaries from the bottom of a conference rival's roster.

Default RE:Let me start a Peja trade

If Sac is even thinking about thinking about thinking about trading Peja to Dallas, we would have to not only offer the same level of talent as say A NON RIVAL TEAM but tons more...........

They would want AT LEAST Stackhouse, Howard, new #1, and they probably wont even do it

That's why we should offer TAW instead.
