I live in Dallas, and Frontier Cable no longer carries Fox Sports SW. what are my options for watching games this year? I considered League Pass, but I’m afraid local games will be blacked out. Any suggestions besides changing cable services?

If you’re ok with streaming then bump this thread before the first game and I’ll provide a website that links to different NBA streams on the internet. You’ll want a good antivirus software and adblocker lol.

Yeah, that’s kind of my fall back option, but I’d prefer to know I can just flip it on the TV and not have to worry about streams cutting out or something. I’d like to have Fox Sports so I can watch Stars games too when hockey starts back up.

The only blackout workaround I can think of is using a VPN to change your location/IP address.

Sling.com is $30 monthly. Locast.org is free after you register and works for any of the games that are broadcast locally. There's also Hulu and YouTube TV services. They're kinda pricey but at last have DVR service. I don't care about watching anything other than Mavericks games so I just find other ways to watch the games.

HULU and Youtube TV both also stopped carrying Fox Regional. I believe the only mainstream provider is AT&T Now.

I use Hulu live. It's basically the same as having cable.

I think ATT NOW is the only service still carrying FSSW. I would hope the Mavericks would drop them as broadcasters or simulcast on fox 21.

YouTube tv or Hulu live will usually cave in before the start of the season but it’s become a real shame the availability in watching our mavs. I first started watching the mavs in 92 as a young kid on an old black/white 13 inch. Back then it seemed like almost every game was on ch 21

I think it was rebranded FS1 or FS2 this year. I think Dish is carrying the games again

FS1 and FS2 are existing channels that I believe carry miscellaneous sports. They will not carry Mavs games.

If you are a real MFFL you can get league pass and a VPN. You use a VPN server that is out of this area and you can then stream the games. It will cost around $110 for a single team league pass and around $5 to $10 per month for a VPN.

I would advise against using buffstreamz. It is illegal as it broadcasts copywrited content and also may install malware and adware on your device. If you do opt to use it, also use a VPN.

Nope, and Cuban basically blew it off too. Hulu dropped them, frontier fios dropped them, and so did Youtube.

So choices in my area are Spectrum or At&t streaming.

Gonna be hard to keep those revenues up if people can't watch the games...

He did seem nonchalant about it. Saying you can get AttNow which is way more expensive to get the package including fssw. Is he invested in att?

I know sports networks cost a ton of money for licensing and so TV providers have to look good and hard at offering them or not, but it's super crappy to have only one provider in all of Texas/OK that carries it.

People can't go to games and people at home just get fed up and don't watch or else turn to pirated feeds. That's not good if you want to see a reliable revenue stream and a happy fanbase.

NBA really has to consider their blackout rules. It's probably built into TV contracts, but someone in Dallas should be able to buy League Pass and watch Mavericks basketball regardless of where they are. This is pretty much where I’m at. Looks like I’m going to have to resort to streaming games since no cable providers near me carry FSSW. Kinda shitty that I’m not able to watch my local team when I pay for cable. I’m not super interested in finding a working stream every game and hoping it doesn’t cut out in the middle of a game.

No, we don't. The worst part is that most of us are willing to pay for it and not illegal stream. I have no clue how any entity can exist when they basically refuse peoples' money.

Maybe both? I know the Mavs obviously have a good relationship with Fox and don't want to piss off their sponsors.

But I wonder how happy the sponsors are when people can't watch the games?

Maybe, idk. His response was very off-putting. I don't claim to know all the moving parts of their contracts, aside from what he said about Sinclair having a contract with the Mavs. Reading on Twitter, there are a ton of other people calling bullshit and reeling about how to watch. If I were him, I would be almost terrified that it's cutting it so close to the season and fans don't have any tangible answers. Not sure but ATTNow may not even be an option to those in Apartment complexes who are under contract such as Spectrum etc.

ATTNow is a streaming service. If you have internet (including a smartphone) you can get it. Don't know about the pricing however.

I get people feel Cuban is being too nonchalant, but I'm not sure there's much he can actually do. He has no control over Fox's contracts with TV providers, and at least until his current contracts are up, he has no legal right to move television rights somewhere that's not already covered.

NBA League Pass allows you to select individual team package for like $20 bucks a month

I don't think it helps those in local Dallas area but out here in AZ I just use sling TV through my XBOX and get all the Mavs games.

Go with international LP and a VPN. Google whats the cheapest ILP, mostly its the Argentina one for Like 60-70 Bucks.

A VPN everyone should have/use in 2020 anyway

60 or 70$ for just league pass? I don't need to watch that many other teams. If I wanted to have an extra 60-70$ expense, I'd just do AttNow so I can still have other channels. Technically its less about the money and more about the inconvenience and hurdles they have put in front of us local fans.

League Pass is a one-time expense though.

I pay $120 once a year and it gives me all the Mavs games except the four Mavs-Suns and the national. Then I just borrow my dad's cable membership to watch the rest.

Get a VPN to make it look like you're in Phoenix and you'd get the same. International ones may be slower, but you can then get all 82 games.

I don't think you can record, but while League Pass is active, you can skip to any part of the game. I usually start about 20-30 minutes late and that way when I come to a commercial, I can just skip ahead to when the broadcast comes back.

They also take 24 hours or so, but you can watch a VoD of old games. So Friday's game you can watch Sat night.

Yeah its obv for the entire RS. Playoff one is pretty cheap too
