One game. Hopefully the start of good things though.
Kidd was obviously amazing. Like I said, I just don't understand how a player can look THAT terrible and then suddenly THAT good. If he can play half that well from here on out, I like our chances to at least make a run. But I just don't have a lot of confidence in Kidd to avoid reverting into his play of late.
Sasha was a nice pickup.
We still need a trade.
Tyson gutted things out. Haywood is a chump.
Marion looked great. He's another guy who is sort of Jekyll/Hyde with his game.

Reposted from GDT because nobody answered:
I was switching back and forth between this and the Texas game--did Chandler play the entire second half (except the last few seconds)? He was in there every time i switched.

I loved how TC came back in the 2nd half and kept playing with the flu. Nothing special, but he has heart.

That kid Sasha Pavlovic looked pretty good out there - not just his 11 points on 5-7 shooting, but he really brought a lot of energy.

And he doesnt do stupid things with the ball, he plays within his role. Thats what a roleplayer should do. Thats why Cardinal is a good role player too

He's always been known as a pretty scrappy defender, so the offense is actually nice to see for me.

The best (read: worst) part is that you can totally tell about 1-2 seconds before whenever he's about to do that. Every time.

Basically any time he gets the ball within 15 feet.

He seems to have a moment every few games where he thinks he suddenly gained the powers of Hakeem Olajuwon.
Unfortunately, it's usually proved seconds later that he's still Brendan Haywood.

Yep. He gets a little gitty-up in his step that isn't there most of the time.
Ok, I want to stop talking about Haywood now. It's making me grumpy.

He's like a windup doll. He goes into this absurd spin move from ten feet out that looks like a slow motion tornado.

Pretty funny.
BTW, I agree with whoever above said we still need a trade. Might have been Cad. We need some sort of production, even if it's not a lot, from Butler's roster spot. Just gotta have it, IMO.

I'm starting to wonder if Haywood wasn't sent to the Mavs by the powers that be just so that all the misguided Damp haters of years past can see what a contract whore actually looks like.
But I digress, because this was much too good a win (way to call it jthig) to waste the celebration on contention over an ex-Mav.
Good stuff from a lot of guys tonight, so I'll just say: 1) Huge bounce-back game from Kidd, 2) JET (the irrepressible optimist) clearly hearts Dirk, if his play since Dirk returned is any indication, and 3) If I'm Cuban I'm considering giving Sasha a contract for the rest of the year just on principle.

All NBA players are contract whores, and they should be. No reason to hate on that. I don't think either Damp or Haywood intentionally suck because they got paid. Haywood is butt hurt because he doesn't start, and Damp just didn't have the talent to be Dirk and Terry's backstop. Praise Jesus for Tyson Chandler.

Just going to say this: Even if Steveson is struggling and when Booby comes back, I really hope Rick gives him some minutes, his defense doesn't slump
