The Official Doc vs. Dooby Thread (NEW TITLE COMING SOON)
It's time. SMU at Baylor. Dooby and I have been waiting for this game for a while now. We have been talking about the game for weeks and we both think our teams will be victorious. The winner will get a unique title for this thread. If Dooby's SMU poines beat my beloved Baylor bears this week in Waco, I will change the title of the thread to something like "SMU is better than Baylor" or something else that Dooby comes up with. However, if (when) my beloved Baylor Bears steamroll those SMU shetland ponies, I will be forced to change the title to something a little more reflective of the victory.
Feel free to chime in.....but this thread is for Dooby and I.
Baylor - 26
SMU - 24
P.S. The Vegas line is Baylor +2 at home.
Sic 'em Bears!!!!!

RE: The Official Doc vs. Dooby Thread (NEW TITLE COMING SOON)
The bears are no longer just the joke of the big 12, they are the joke of college football. What was the score of that North Texas game? Is there really any hope left after they received a 50 point slaughter via the hands of the Mean Grean. I think my Arlington Heights Yellow Jackets could give them a run for the money. At least SMU has the death penalty and tight academic restrictions to blame their ineptitude on. What exuse does Baylor have? They pay their players and still get pummeled by glorified 1AA teams.
Doc- Here's your title: "Baylor Bears - The worst team money can buy"

Sadly...Baylor hasn't been a division 1 team for several years. Unfortunately after the disgrace against North Texas, I think Baylor gets blown out again. As Craig James said on Fox Radio the other day, "If SMU can't beat Baylor then they should drop their football program."
Baylor is a good school, but I have lost all hope that they will ever be a factor is college football ever again. How is that for a graduate speaking. Although I am ready to start talking smack about our baseball program and our sprint relay teams.

I think that murph is dead on. UNT is a pretty good football team. Ask Texas Tech what they think about them. Anyone (Craig James)who pulls the Baylor should drop their football team card is a certifiable moron.
Ape- I know you love SMU, but come on...get those facts straight. That was a basketball thing that was perpetuated by one dumbass EX coach (Bliss) to one player. Bliss should be jailed for his actions and hopefully will be. An SMU fan throwing the "pay the players" stone? Bwahahahaha....
The Bears will win this game and there will much rejoicing.

Baylor lost to UAB. That is University of Alabama-Birmingham. I swear to God I had to look that up. At least I know what the hell Texas Tech is.
Baylor is spaaaaaaaaaaaare.
If there is a bough, I just fired a shot across it.

RE: The Official Doc vs. Dooby Thread (NEW TITLE COMING SOON)
i follow the falcons by default cause my sister goes there. i went to a game last year (against colorado st.)... man, it was miserable. cold as hell. and they lost. if they had one, maybe it would've been better. but this game was later in the season, so it shouldn't be too cold for the UNT game.
anyway, i'll let my sister know she needs to watch out for the murph. hell, you could catch a volleyball game that same weekend and see her kick ass.

You heard it here first. Baylor corrals the Shetland Ponies.
Baylor - 26
SMU - 24
The Ponies will be limping back up I-35 Saturday night. To add insult to injury, their bus will break down on I-35 at the Baylor exit and they will be mocked by hundreds of "dancing bears". Some Aggie mechanic will have to fix the bus while the Pony players balance their checkbooks and call daddy on their cell phones for help. The Aggie mechanic will fix the bus with one the SMU players cappucino machines and the bus will get as far as Hillsboro where they will have to stop to buy another for the distraught guy.

SMU 35; Baylor 24. And that is how it is going to be. And you will hear the Ponies laughing as their team bus departs Waco, not because they won, but because their opponents have to stay at Baylor.

SMU 21
Baylor 20
SMU gets back at Baylor and decides not to throw a pass the whole game long. In the 90's Baylor had an injured JJ joe at quarterback and played the whole game without throwing a pass and still won. How is that for smash mouth football???

BTW, the year before, they only threw the ball twice. Of course most of the current players were in elementary school then. Well, not the Baylor players, they were busy applying to junior college or repeating their freshmen year in highschool.

It's sad that two stalwarts of the southwest conference has come to this. But I will make my prediction:
SMU 21
Baylor 6

he'd probably root for UNT... just because he's in the air force doesn't mean he follows the air force academy... in fact, i am under the impression that those in the air force that did not go to the academy don't like those that did.

The Official Doc vs. Dooby Thread (NEW TITLE COMING SOON)
One day mama bear and papa bear were getting a divorce. The judge decided that baby bear was going to live with mama bear.
Baby bear started to cry . "Whats wrong?" the judge asked baby bear.
"I dont want to live with mama bear, she abuses me!" said baby bear.
"Then, you can live with papa bear" said the judge.
Baby bear started to cry even harder the judge asked him, "Whats wrong?" Baby bear replied, " I dont want to live with papa bear he abuses me even more than mama bear does."
"Then who do you want to live with?" asked the judge.
Baby bear replied, "I want to live with the Baylor Bears, because they don't beat anyone!"

Sad huh? It's been a fun run....what has it been? 6 months? More maybe since we first realized this?
Anyways...the shetland poines will run back to SMU after having been thoroughly broken by the Bears.

The Official Doc vs. Dooby Thread (NEW TITLE COMING SOON)
From the home office, High on the Hilltop, the top 10 surprises awaiting the Mustangs when they travel to Waco for Saturday's game with Baylor:
10. Baylor locker room erupts into chaos when irate teammates demand to know why backup WR Baylor Barbee gets to have his first name on the front of his jersey, rather than getting the traditional style of jersey with just his last name on the back
9. Reading the NCAA-mandated pre-game message about following the rules and fair competition: Dave Bliss
8. Baylor quarterback Aaron Karas is nowhere to be found at game time; he's later discovered holed up in his apartment, watching an all-day marathon of "Webster" re-runs in what he terms a tribute to Alex Karras, who he mistakenly thinks is his uncle
7. The game marks Baylor's 2003 Parents Weekend; game is delayed when SMU offensive lineman Sterling Harris is overcome with remorse after pancaking defensive end's mom
6. Floyd Casey Stadium is sold out as Baylor fans clamor to see the Mustangs' first appearance in Waco since 1994 and because of a planned post-game concert featuring Madonna and Britney Spears; BU fans leave long before game ends because Ponies dominate game and because of rumors that conservative school administrators won't allow Madonna and Britney to re-enact their awards show kiss
5. Game is delayed at start as Baylor alum and longtime NFL safety Vann McElroy is honored in a pregame celebration for his status as a fraternity brother of PonyFans.com moderators I AM and PonyPride
(Caught you off-guard with that one, eh guys?)
4. Thousands of Central Texas NASCAR fans swarm Baylor head coach, asking what they would need to do to score some free cigarettes from Coach Morriss's "uncle Phillip"
3. Baylor defensive coordinator hangs his head in embarrassment when, after screaming to his players that the SMU is lined up in a "twins" formation (two WRs on the same side of the field), middle linebacker Stephen Sepulveda suddenly blows a timeout to squeal to his teammates about his long-held admiration for Ashley and Mary Kate Olson
2. The start of the game is delayed when the frazzled referee announces he won't conduct the pre-game coin toss until SOMEONE tells him when Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are re-scheduling their wedding
And the #1 surprise awaiting the Mustangs when they travel to Waco for Saturday's game with Baylor:
1. The method of providing prerecorded accompaniment to popular songs that a performer sings live, usually by following the words on a video screen and usually after consuming waaaaaay too many drinks, is not named after Baylor wide receiver Robert Quiroga

Good times.
No Big XII homer refs this time, bi-yutch.

Ehh.....buddy. It was 10-7 and SMU missed a FG in the fourth. Not exactly a route. Your big 12 refs called a penalty for a chop-block, for goodness sakes! Nobody ever calls that! Your two scoring drives were for minus-11 and 35 yards.

Baylor wins. If it were 100-0 or 10-7......it is still a win.

I just had to put up one more shot. Tomorrow ends the SMU victory week. Next we bash Sam Houston. Doesn't SMU host Okla State this week? Ouch!

This is easily in my top 2-3 threads for pure enjoyment.
We don't need no stinkin' refs. We shall just place 30 first half points on the punies and coast from there.
This is going to be fun. After next week I will be more creative.
