@DerekBodnerNBA: I really have never seen an organization so good at asset accumulation and so terrified of asset consolidation as the Celtics.

Wrong thread, but I wonder if the Mavs would be interested in beating that contract. Should they decide to get rid of Powell eventually but strike out on Ibaka, couldn't he be quite useful as a cheap backup 4/5?

Seriously! How many small forwards does one team need? There aren't enough minutes at the 3/4 for all of Crowder, Tatum, and Brown. Although I suppose the Celtics could go small and start two of them.

Free agent Nene is very disappointed about his $4 million drop in expected contract & is "back at square one in free agency," a source said.

At the moment, free agent center Nene is not interested in re-signing to a three-year, $10 million deal with the Rockets. Market back open.

Sure sounds like it was, given that he's only a couple of weeks too old for the initial contract offer to be legal under the CBA.
That there was twitter-buzz among salary cap guys before anything about Houston re-structuring that offer came out also points to that being the case, I would think.

On another note: Clips gonna clip

"Look, the Clippers are the Clippers," Cuban said. "You can change the players, you can change the owner, but the Clippers are who they've been for the last 30 years." (Oct 30, 2015)
