He spelled D-Whistle's name incorrectly. Well, he actually spelled it correctly for 99.9% of the earth.

Even the most casual Dallas Mavericks fan remembers how Dwyane Wade wore out the free throw line from Game 3 on during the 2006 NBA Finals, leading the Miami Heat back from an 0-2 hole to win the title in six.
More than three years later, here comes disgraced NBA referee Tim Donaghy to pour salt on the still-open wound. (...)
That didn't sit well with Mavericks guard Jason Terry, who admits he's still smarting from the Finals collapse.
"Every day," Terry said when asked how often he still thinks about the series. "And then Donaghy comes out yesterday on ESPN Radio, says some things, so the fire is definitely brewing in our bellies. So, we’ll see what happens when we get done there."
The Mavs play at Miami Friday night, their lone trip to South Beach of the season.
"Getting back in that arena brings up old memories," Terry said, "and I don’t think we’ll ever get that taste out of our mouths until we get a championship here in Dallas."
|
Just to underline the great opening post.
I'm already excited and I'm definitely watching tonight, but my soul didn't get crushed in 2006, so what do I know of your pain.
But wasn't there a streak of the Mavs always winning in Miami/against D-Wade since, or am I wrong?

Also from espn dallas
Quote:
Josh Howard, one game into his latest comeback, might or might not play both games in the back-to-back sequence starting at the Miami Heat on Friday night and back at home against Charlotte on Saturday.
Dallas Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle had suggested after the Phoenix game that Howard might sit out one of the two to help ease Howard, who scored 20 points in 26 minutes in the win over the Suns, back into normal minutes.
"I’m not going to say which game he’s going to play or not play and I’m not going to say he’s not going to play one of the games," Carlisle said Thursday afternoon as the team prepared to leave for Miami. "Some of that we may play by ear. I don’t think that I definitely said he’ll sit one of the games out. I think it’s a good possibility of it, but we’ll see. I think we’ll know where we are probably after Friday night."
Which sounds as if Howard will be in the lineup Friday against Dwyane Wade and the Heat.
In other Mavs news:
*Guard Quinton Ross, a defensive specialist out with a bad lower back, could be ready for Friday's game, Carlisle said.
*The Mavs will shoot for a Western Conference-high ninth road win at Miami. Dallas (8-4 on the road) has gone two seasons without a winning road record.
|
So Rick will have a full roster to work with in Miami?
Btw, where was Tim Thomas against the Suns? I guess carlisle just decided not to play him, but it sure would have been fitting to see him drain some threes against them!

Dwyane Wade makes me sick. We better crush them, and I want Dirk to steal the show.

I'd say it's a full roster, but not fully healthy.
And now for something completely different:
Miami didn't play the whole week, here's hope that was too much spare time to fill for Michael Beasley...

Gonna be at that game in row 14!!! Just close enough to watch us kill the Heat in HD, but just far enough so we don't get the whole Heat rosters blood splattered all over my awesome Dirk jersey!!! Go Mavs!

I used to think that Dirk's perfect shots didn't disturb the net at all, but in HD, you can see the bottom of the net shudder slightly as the ball hits it. Just a bit, but it's definitely there.

The Mavs are going to drill holes in the Heat's genitals, so that when the Heat urinate, it comes out in all different directions.

Jason Terry from ESPN Inside the Mavs:
"I am anticipating a great week for the Mavs.
We took care of the Suns in a tough home win and tonight we face D-Wade and the Miami Heat.
All Mavs fans know what this game means to us. It's hard not to think about 2006, when the ball boys are showing off their rings during pre game warm-ups.
Oh well, life goes on. But we sure want to win tonight.
Its holiday season and I'm trying to fit some christmas shopping in for the kids.
Don't forget the Jet Coat Drive. Drop off new and used blankets and coats to any Dave & Busters and help me blanket the metroplex!
We sure want to win tonight. Should be a great game.
Stay tuned next week as the Jet hits the Runway!"

Upon further review, this doesn't sound like such a good idea...

But how does that work on D-Wade? He doesn't have a penis.
